Class of 2026 WR Zikhere Leaks (PA) Flipped to UConn

Susquehanna is fairly close to me, as I believe they are to you iirc. Maybe we can go have a Cuse meet up and see this gent first hand?

Do you know if Susquehanna is Friday night games or do they fall into Saturday day games like some other Harrisburg teams?
Do you live near the Susquehanna Hat Company?

Fran has a "type."

Highly rated guys, or guys with terrific size / speed ratio for the position. Kid is a 6-2 defensive back, and a track star.

Definitely trust Brown with respect to evaluating DB-types, but I understand your point going off just the 85 rating / 3 star / limited offer list.
I agree Fran has a type of player he likes to recruit. Size and speed. I feel he believes his staff can develop the skills of a player.
I also feel Fran will not over pay (nil) for a high school player. If a kid that’s highly rated is demanding too much money and Fran sees another player with similar size and speed but needs more development he will go after that player. That allows him to give more money to the players on the team that are starters. There are exceptions, Russel, because getting a five star would make a splash but have to spend the resources wisely.
I think some schools maybe over spending for high school players (Rutgers) that will impact them long term. Especially with the two to three year contracts the B1G are using (Wisconsin is an example) if a player does not meet expectations but the school has committed the money.

Notice I didn't say unworthy offers - because I don't think that's true.

But this class has maybe a few more of these type commitments than maybe I expected at this juncture.

So did last year's class.

So will every class at Syracuse. I think a lot of posters saw how aggressively successful Brown and staff were coming out of the gate, and expected us to land 4 and 5 star guys nonstop [some as transfers]. But I think that it is more likely that we'll get some of those guys, and a lot of guys who are more in the three star range but [hopefully] guys with high upside [and Brown, ERob, Robinson etc. seem to be really good at identifying those type of prospects].

It looks like Fran is still chasing some of those guys, hitting the portal aggressively as well, but identifying guys that they think fit [such as the under rated but HUGE offensive linemen we seem to be targeting].

The point [not calling it a compliant] you are raising is what a lot of people said about last year's class, too.

Time will tell.

I think they are able to have Friday night games
I'll look over the schedule and we can organized Cuse meet up

how we've seen recruiting since fran has arrived means players like this (not a laundry list of P4 offers) get the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Not every one of these kids will be 'under-the-radar-gems' but for many years we had to convince ourselves that a majority of our commits were overlooked by the big boys

we're not at the kids table anymore but we're not fully seated with the big boys yet. On our way

Leaks has a higher grade on 247 than Gadsden (who was underrated and had some nice offers) as a comparison. Does he have the best offer sheet? No. But things are changing. Guys with meh offer sheets that we got previously that were projected starters based on our roster are now choosing Syracuse to compete and develop for the hope of playing time over a school like UConn where they probably have an easier path to start. The depth is noticeable. Our headliners in these classes have impressive offer sheets. Also, the staff will go for a guy with an 83 grade that has measurables that indicate a higher ceiling than someone with an 88 grade, but based on their measurables they are maybe a little undersized and is kind of maxed out of their development. We are closer than ever to landing the perfect package, great measurables, highly rated, developed, and can even become better, NFL day 2 at the worst guys.

They are building a program with competition, guys that see this place as a place they can get better professionally and personally. That is what we are recruiting now. Before, we were just trying to recruit to field a football team.
