Yankees don't have many pitching options if they miss out on Tanaka

They didn't. It was down to the east coast/west coast battle of the Evil Empires. NY bests LA.

The one, probably only, concern re Tanaka is that he threw a bleepload of innings at a young age in Japan. Lots more than any MLB club allows its young hurlers to throw now.

Here's hoping he's more Darvish than Irabu, and that we get something from Pineda finally.

My guess: Girardi will keep Sabathia slotted as the ace. Might even have Kuroda 2, Tanaka 3, but we'll see how that plays out.

Nova 4.
Phelps or Pineda 5.

The Yanks really needed to get Tanaka, I'm glad they did. The Yankees would appear to have a great rotation next season with Sabathia, Tanaka, Kuroda, Nova, and Pineda. That's assuming Tanaka and Pieda pan out, and Sabathia, Kuroda, and Nova remain consistent.

The question that remains will he be allowed to use his yellow glove?

Please don't tell me that his yellow glove is like Samson's hair!
