You are Red

Moore
Starling
Bell
Freeman
Dry Rub

Bench goes Davis for the 4 and 5, Taylor for the 3 to go offense/defense with Bell as needed and backing up as the 2, and Petar for extra front court minutes.

Situational minutes for Carlos/Cuffe/McCleod, whatever that means.

Edited to add: Because I'm a true believer, I'll also say once we see Westry he has a chance to change the backcourt balance.

Im watching lots of Tape and reevaluating my combinations. Im asking each assistant coach to independent of the other coaches to give me their lineup thoughts as well.
The assumptions made up until this game need to be tossed. Red has to change his lineup.

Idk GIF

What is your rotation going forward?

It depends how injured/hurt Lampkin is. I have no idea, but the story really isn’t Bell, he’s still Bell. And the story really isn’t Carlos, he’s a mid major guy playing like it.

It’s that Eddie is hurt. Can’t walk without a limp. And isn’t in game shape.

With a healthy Eddie if that’s even possible at any point this year:

JJ
Moore
Davis
Freeman
Eddie

When he’s hurt, the same, but swap in Lucas.

Mind boggling that they spent any time, resources, or money on Eddie.

Red wanted to sit Lampkin for the whole game, but Lampkin insisted that he wanted to play.

Some fun quotes from this article:

“I was trying to see if we could get away without (using him) before he got fully back healthy,” Autry said. “He’s almost there. He’s just got to get his conditioning up. I tried but he tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Coach, let me go in.’ I felt like he and Petar Majstrovic changed the whole first half with their energy.”

While back injuries can be persistent and Lampkin said he does have some history with them, both he and his head coach expressed confidence that his recovery has gone well enough that it shouldn’t be an issue moving forward.

Just another note from a previous DO article - before his second season at TCU, they made him lose 70 pounds.

I appreciate Eddie’s heart. Truly. But his body ain’t right. And it won’t be all year.

Everybody here seems to be ignoring Maj - if Eddie is hurt he deserves a shot at a bigger role.

Moore needs to be a starter or at least get starter minutes. Kid oozes talent.

Gotta question Carlos's role. Clearly, he has played his way out of the starting lineup - hope Red sees it sooner rather than later. Maybe he will do better with coming off the bench, if not he should stay on the bench. His only strength is no TOs, so maybe his role should just be lead protecting if we ever get ahead.

Bell - wow - I dont even know what to say. He has as good a form as anybody as a three point shooter. He is capable of running the floor and finishing on the break - he can back his man down and hit a turnaround deuce. So why dont those things happen more consistently ? The only progress I see in his game is improved rebounding, but he is hardly a board beast.

It is actually quite amazing that we won with three starters combining (JJ, Bell, and Carlos) for 6 from 28 and no treys.

I mean, I’ve gotten hammered on this site for the Eddie discussion.

Is what it is. We chose to put our resources where we did.

We won’t make the tournament again and we can hope next year is better.

I’ll keep rooting for Eddie.

I think if Red moves Bell from starting lineup he may just leave mid season and Reds afraid of that happening.
Agree completely. I personally think Bell hurts more than he helps. Even when he scores 20 I guarantee the person he is covering or responsible for is also scoring 20, or more.

Bell and Carlos are the biggest problems

I think Red found some stuff that worked last night and he alluded to that in the presser. He’s never going to trash players and throw transfers out. He needs to be a portal coach long term.
