Your SU 5 player Street Pickup lineup

Somewhat surprised not to see mentioned of Donte Green (he’s been out of shape in TBT) or McNeil if not for intimidation alone

I thought about McNeil.

I'm more surprised at the lack of Flynn mentions. I know he had a more happy-go-lucky vibe to him, but there weren't too many guys who could stay in front of him in his prime.

And GMac isn't getting love because he's short and not particularly athletic but he was a stone-cold killer on the basketball court. For those picking a team based on toughness, Cuse guards don't get much tougher than GMac. Dude was never shook.

Love this idea. I'm going with a 3 guard lineup and an extreme lack of defense.

Pearl: Magician with the ball
Dion: Strong, slasher, attitude
Devo: Great finisher, not afraid of anything/anyone
Melo: Ultimate scorer
DC: Tenacious rebounder. Is there anyone tougher? That was hypothetical - there is not.

Pearl
Stevie Thompson
Melo
Dayshawn Wright
Derrick Coleman

Conrad & Dion first off the bench. No one is going to call a foul on that team. Double rims - need to board first, slashers, runners, and then shooters.

Dwayne Washington
Dave Bing
Carmelo Anthony
John Wallace
Derrick Coleman
Injury sub: Dion Waiters

Great thread idea!

Who coaches this street ball squad? Dashaun Williams, Eric Devendorf or William Celuk?

I love this topic. And I'm rolling with a smaller team, but no one's stopping them:

Pearl, Dion, Devo
Wes Johnson
Derrick Coleman

While there is no world in which Wes is better than Carmelo skillwise, I'm looking
strictly for an uber athletic who is going to posterize people with high flying
dunks and blocks, and this was never Melo's strength.

Kev

Pearl
Waiters
Stevie
DC
McNasty McRae
Hard to leave Sherm and Bing off this. I've heard about a few Jimmy Collins vs Bing street games from my dad. I saw my boy get dunked on by Stevie, I asked him if he needed us to take him to the hospital after. Lol

If things get real funky, Derek Brower sitting over by the tree

Street?
Bam.
G Dion - handles, creates his own, defense, grit
G Devo- handles, creates his own, defense, grit
SF Carmelo - points in a hurry
PF Jerami Grant - just for electricity in the dunks, blocks
C Derrick Coleman - muscle, rebounding, points in the paint
edit: Conrad honorable mention just cause I saw him play street, West 4th street courts

That is what I was thinking. Maybe D.C. At PF Etan at center. He times blocks so well

give me pearl & melo and my other three can be greg davis, devin brennan-mcbride and a mop bucket

Pearl
Moten
Devo
DC1
Dion

Four guards and pain on the playground.

No love for Kid Kohls? Had the quickest release along with accuracy and Curry like range. As a senior averaged nearly 30 pts per game, before the three point shot, while leading the team in assists. Shot around 44% and most of those would be long threes. Went over 30 pts 11 times as a senior. Probably equivalent to 40 pts per game. Put him in along with Poetry, Thompson and Devo and DC to get one hell of a tough team. If you beat them you better run off the court if you want to live. In street ball toughness and intimidation count. Kohls would stretch out the other teams defense to halfcourt in your average street ball court. That would open it up for Thompson and Devo to drive and they are perhaps the two quickest and creative players we have ever seen. Poetry would mercilessly exploit any weakness, the best glue guy in history, but Boeheim was also no slouch when it came to exploiting weaknesses. DC speaks for himself. When the going is tough he is good for 20 rebounds. In streetball he would own the glass. But, how can you not start the Pearl, the General, Bing, Wallace, Bouie, Onuaku, E Thomas and Melo? For pure intimidation have to consider Brower and McNasty. McNasty went so far as to use eye makeup to maximize intimidation. If you want a pure pass first point guard that has the ball on a string have to consider Z.

Dave Bing
Michael Lloyd
Melo
Herman Harried
