Zack Mahoney a Nominee for 2017 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team

AGAIN, i know i have told this story before, of sitting next to Zach's mom at the spring game his frosh year. She trained in from Illinois and was on her phone following Zach's brother pitching for i believe, Valpo. Sat with her for the whole game and had a great time. Awesome to see his athletic success @ su exceed their expectations while he has worked toward a very valuable degree. :)

Awesome stuff , from day one he has been helpful to my son . Great role model

I am sorry, caretaker, who is your son? I apologize if u am late to the party.

Awesome, thank you and good luck to your son. LOVE that he is orange... Thanks for contributing and looking forward to your insight regarding TD and the program:)

Zach is an amazing young man, and we are very fortunate that he reps the Orange so very well.
He is a remarkable leader, on and off the field.

The fact that he went from walkon to backup to effective starter is a credit to his attitude and hard work.
Nice to see him get some well deserved recognition.

Generally not a good thing for a walk-on (former) to be so visible at the most important position on the field, but truly a silver lining that it has given us the opportunity to watch Zack develop both as a player and more importantly as a person.

What ???

What ???
Simply saying walk-ones are generally invisible to all but the most ardent fans. It took a string of QB injuries for Zack to see the field, but once he did his passion for the game and team first attitude shone through. The increased visibility gave us a glimpse of the man he is off the field and cemented the respect he has from his teammates and the fan base.

God damn if only Leonard Fournette wasn't the animal he is, that LSU game may have swung our way that day. Much respect for Zack
