I think I have only been to the movies once in the last 20 years, and definitely won't be watching the ceremony again this year but here is the list of all the nominations and their odds. The only reason I am posting this is so six months from now I can reference the list when my wife wants to watch a movie "On Demand".

I finally watched The Power of the Dog last night. I thought it was excellent. So many acquaintances panned it. I do not understand why. It was infinitely better than Nightmare Alley, which was a huge disappointment. Perhaps, it is because I loved the original.

Oh lord i hated that movie

Honestly can’t remember that movie.
I ask because it was the same writer/director and shared many of the same attributes (slower pace, visually intense, dark mood, villain becomes relatable, surprise twist).

Of the films I saw, this is how I rank them:

1. The Power of the Dog
2. Belfast
3. CODA
4. Don’t Look Up
5. Licorice Pizza
6. Nightmare Alley

Hated The Power Of The Dog. Appreciated the artistry and care that went into making it.

But the shocking reveal was hardly shocking, it's territory that has been trod previously, and better.

Hey, Willie Nelson sang a song about it back in 2006:

My picks:

I only saw Belfast. Once I figured out what it was about, I really liked it. My wife thought it was meh.

WOW!! I actually had an anxiety attack watching this!
