First and foremost, we have this thread each year to honor our fallen friend and board contributor Calicuse, who passed away on October 7, 2016. Rest in peace Cali.

Football’s back!
The Pac’s dissolving and Florida State wants you to be aware that they’re super serious about leaving the ACC!
But we’re going to put all that aside and continue our time honored tradition of setting completely unreasonable expectations for our beloved Syracuse Orange.
The 2022 season was a rollercoaster. The first half we were dark horse ACC championship contenders led by a renewed Garret Shrader and The Mob.
The second half we stepped on a mine (a close mentally and physically exhausting loss to Clemson) and ended up with injuries all over the field and barely crawled to a bowl eligible finish.
The portal opened, as did draft eligibility, and honestly most of us were just happy to be participating in a bowl game.
——————————
Fast forward to now.
We return a veteran laden squad with size and depth we’ve not seen since Coach P.
The offense is led by fan-loved Garrett Shrader who’s backed by not one former SEC 4 ️ QB but now two.
We feature a deep stable of RB’s, headed by Allen who showed glimpses of crazy talent vs the Gophers. He’s backed by a 5 deep of scholarship rb’s. Price, Daniels, Parkman, and Branham.
The OL’s another year experienced and featuring more depth. We added a couple big names in the portal and continue to add ACC level size. We lose Bergeron but the unit as a whole looks stronger.
Gadsden returns to highlight the best WR unit we’ve had since Erv Phillips and Steve Ishmael. Jones, Adams, Alford, Pena, Long, Hatcher and many others will compete for time.
On defense our line looks filthy. Sure we lose Geer and Linton (Texas Tech thinks Lawrence Taylor’s a poor man’s Linton, good for them!) but we keep Caleb, Darton, Fuentes, Lockett, Jobity, Jacquez and a host of other big, angry, talented players. My price target for sacks is high this year, I’m bullish.
Linebackers have been a bastion of strength under Babers. If there was a unit that excited Rocky to come, its gotta be here. Future NFL players in Wax and Thompson. Good, experienced options in Lowery, Sparrow and McDonald. A host of young talent in Bailey, Mason, and Roon. My prediction is Leon makes us all forget about Steve quickly.
DB is a weak point but has strong roots. We lose Duce, Jahad and Garrett. However we return proven solid commodities in Barron and Simmons. Talents there with Clarke, Oliver, Zeke, Quan and Perry. Just gotta hope they mature and form a dependable unit quick. Isaiah Johnson’s a stud, and my second prediction is he’s our next NFL db draft pick. He’s physical and experienced. Think he’ll help with the loss of Garrett. Gould and Bellamy looked poised to step in and contribute immediately. Snaps are up for grabs as far as im concerned.
