And Your Next ACC Team Is

From Cincinnati official RT Koz_UC: Reports of a 3 p.m. press conference or any announcement are both false and inaccurate

Agree. If Cincy is the only addition, we are in trouble. If they are part of a deal with Louisville, then good, Clemson and FSU may stick around. Better yet, maybe ND finally joins a conference in full - OK, OK, that's just a dream, but, you know, it is a cool "What if?".

They may have leaked it out too early and the other 2 want their day in the sun as well.

Bizarre. I have a difficult time believing that is true.

Cincy...if true and they are the only one...then the conference is going down.

I just received email forwarded by a friend and written by someone with contacts in the college football world who "is sometimes right and sometimes wrong". The short of it is (1) 8 ACC schools on serious talks with conferences, and UVA Ga Tech and UNC have applied to big ten (2) big ten has all but decided to accept apps of UVA and tech, and may take unc as 17th team due to possible dept of education sanctions against penn state that would render them in eligible to received fed aid bc if violation of clery act (3) sec is looking at va and nc tv markets with focus on tech state and Clemson, but tech remains hopeful (foolishly) that ACC can survive (4) big 12 is talking to 4 ACC teams but some are fine waiting until sec situation plays out. (4) Cuse has no suitors among big 4 and along with bc, Pitt, duke and wake will likely be left out (5) this will play out in matter if days not weeks.

No clue how accurate this is but was quite detailed.

Straight outta the Dude's talking points...total BS

The source is almost certainly total B.S.

The idea that UVA and GaTech/UNC go to the B1G, NC St/VaTech go to the SEC, and some combo of FSU/Clemson/Miami/GaTech go to the Big 12 is most certainly not BS.

Sounds like the Dude.

If there is one grain of truth with the dude, its that each school is certainly keeping track of their available options. I have little doubts that over half of the ACC schools have reached out to other conference in order to gauge interest.

Now, whether they've applied...and those applications accepted is a completely different story.

And your next ACC team is...

Howard. All those years of playing Buttgers finally pays off.

Sorry for alarm then, don't know who dude is. Good to hear its bs.

Check out the link from Bees's post "For entertainment purposes only."

For what it's worth, Tony Basilio, a 20-year radio man in Knoxville, is standing behind his report that Cincinnati players were informed this morning of a move to the ACC. He has over 6,000 followers on Twitter, if those numbers mean anything to you.

Yea, just Cincinnati sounds totally made up. Only way Cinci gets in is packaged with the Ville. Otherwise, CUSA again.

The Dude and his source

If the ACC is talking to Cinci (and there is more than enough smoke to think they are), then the situation has become quite dire for the ACC.

I wonder if they are planning for a mass exodus.

Why do i have this sneaky suspicion that when the dust settles, we'll be playing the same teams as we've been playing for the past 20 years or so (give or take a few of them). This whole thing is just going to put us in the same boat as before with a few more bucks due to the increased price of live sports tv in the eyes of television networks.
