Bubble Watch - Friday Conf Tourney (It's not over)

We are making the tournament.

The ACC was the best league.
The conference is getting 9 teams.
Wake vs. Syracuse
Syracuse wins.
We are going to sweat this but we are getting in.

really all the a10 resumes are very meh - just looked at Dayton and they're hanging their hat on Alabama, Vandy and VCU wins - and they lost at home to Nebraska

edit: and they lost to umass too

Here is the problem and why I dont see us getting a bid

Too many mines in the minefield too avoid. And new mines are popping up all over the place. I feel like I'm in a real world game of whack-a-mole.

There could easily be 2-3 bid stealers when we can't really afford more than one.

That's how it's looking.

Cuse only has themselves to blame. Bubble teams everywhere are stepping up to the plate and hitting base-clearing doubles while Syracuse spent Wednesday striking out looking.

Just trying to find a positive, but it wouldn't be a good loss for Rhode Island if Davidson were to beat them (unlikely I know), assuming RI beats Bonavanture today.
Not unlikely at all. Davidson had uri beat at uri Saturday night before they choked it away. I would make Davidson a small favorite in that game.

St. Bonaventure also played uri close at uri. It was a one possession game very late.

Uri could easily drop either game. Of course the way this week is going...

I hope you are right. I dont see it and would bet my golf clubs we dont get in

as i type this, yes we are in the first four. actually, we are probably 2nd to last in

We are going to play in Dayton.
Hell look at Dayton's resume.
Their conference has zero top 25 teams. They beat Vandy and URI x2.
They are considered a lock because they have wins.
Not great wins but wins.

Syracuse is getting in.

I wish I was as confident.

what is their RPI like or SOS?

RPI doesn't matter people.

Our biggest problem is lack of neutral/road wins.
That is a legit problem. I just look around these chit
teams and think the committee looks at who you beat.
Just winning games is nice but if you play in an inferior league then you quality non conference wins.

We have better wins.
We lost game because we didn't play cream puffs.
UConn/St.Johns/Georgetown underachievied but they aren't cream puffs.
We get in on the strength of the ACC.

its a risky bet for me seeing I have about $4000 invested in that bag
Making you watch an NBA game would be enough of a punishment.
Better bet - if SU makes the Tourney we're sending Marsh to uconn's first CBI game dressed like this...

You (and the rest of us) better hope the Committee doesn't count each game equally. The performance up until Jan 2nd is a deal killer.

so far we're 2 for 2 in jncuse's key games for today (bold is who we want to lose)

The bad news was Davidson.

Rhode Island is the only game you need to worry about. Bona HAS to win that game

Good news but we need everything else to be the status quo, Davidson losing could be a huge issue.
