Class of 2017 CB Ifeatu Melifonwu (MA) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE

His brother had 9 tackles and two end zone INTs last night against Temple. Big night for the Melifonwu family.
Wow, you mean UConn almost got skunked 14 points worse than they already did? : )

I'm super stoked to have this kid coming in! He is so underrated. He may not have a lot of stars but I think he's going to be huge for us. Could be great at either WR or CB. I'm betting he plays a CB/S role but Babers is going to wish he had him offense as well. Tall and very athletic with good speed. On offense he looks like he could be an Amba type with his size and athletic ability assuming he can catch. Kid looks good with the ball in his hands. But having a good 6' -2" athletic CB may have even more of an impact for our team.

You hearing U of M?
Harbaugh's been (surprisingly) targeting MA kids in his time there and has been very successful.

One big part of this is that kids in MA:
A. Idolize Tom (and I mean, why wouldn't you)
B. Don't follow college ball so big names carry more weight
C. Harbaugh's landed a couple MA kids and others want to follow.

Happy trails to 3* CT CB Brandon Sebastian, who abruptly cancelled his upcoming visit and is now set to stick with BC. Brice Marich says it was a "mutual" decision—unlikely. This is made even weirder by another weird thing: 4* ND commit Elijah Hicks decommitted from ND... so he could immediately enroll at Cal, which did not have a head coach at that juncture.

Michigan now has zero realistic targets* at defensive back. Reports that Michigan is getting back in with IA WR Oliver Martin may not be entirely Collins related; it's possible the fifth DB is going to be a wide receiver they convert, probably NJ WR Brad Hawkins.

Won't this just happen in December instead of January?

Maybe not. The kids will have to squeeze in trips the first two weekends of December if they are having second thoughts and want to sign early. But the big boys might not have a clear picture of what’s happening with their primary targets by then. Right now there's only 2 visit weekends left so the big boys picture is clear on what their needs are and the A listers they’re losing out on.

Next year in December they won’t be able to take the Syracuse kid when they’re still battling for the Florida State kid.

IMO the game will be Michigan saying in December – ‘wait don’t sign because WE MIGHT have a spot for you’. The kid is going to have to decide to the roll the dice and wait to see if there's a spot open. The problem is if he gambles and doesn’t sign early with Syracuse, Michigan might not come through AND his spot with Syracuse might be gone to.

The ‘game’ will be fun for sure.

Yup, and jimmy wanted Stritzinger as a db too. We promised him rb, lets see what happens.

Has he already officially visited here or could we lose him without him having visited ?

And here's a photo of it...taken not long ago
