You're wrong not because I say so or because I'm more "optimistic" than you, but rather because the coaching staff squarely believes that Hughes will be a good player. And certainly not a "wasted scholarship."
I'll trust the staff's evaluation of player capabilities / potential over yours. No offense.
I'd prefer that we all avoid absolute statements like you're wrong or I'm right because neither is true. Even the coaching staff has made errors in judgement with players in the past. It is possible that the staff is accurate in it's assessment of Hughes, and it's possible they have overestimated him.
I think this forum would run a lot more smoothly if we could stop trying to be determined to be right or wrong about anything, and just respect each other's right to express an opinion without claiming any authority.
I am not right but I am not wrong, and neither are you. That's what this forum is supposed to be about, an open dialogue. For the record, I hope you and the staff are right about Hughes because we REALLY need him to be good.
