Holy Cross-shout out to Bill Carmody

I know not all the pundits think that a sub .500 team should be in the Big Dance but this is great. Bill Carmody was a great basketball player at Union in Schenectady in the early 70's. Out of college he was a head coach at Fulton Montgomery CC in Johnstown, NY and then was an assistant Union, Providence and Princeton . Became head coach at Princeton and had success there following Carrill and then got the head coaching job at Northwestern in 2000. Coached there for 13 seasons before getting fired because he never made the NCAA's and had a sub .500 record. Got the head coach job at Holy Cross this season. They were picked to finish 7th and they finished 9th with a record of 5-13 in conference but went on a tear to win their conference tournament. Now they have beaten Southern in the First Four and go up against #1 seed Oregon. Imagine if they won.

To finish the season with a winning record, Holy Cross has to win the national championship. Let that sink in for a moment.

Still, it's a heck of a run they've been on. The longest of long shots.
