I flopped quads at Turning Stone yesterday. Had pocket 4's , flop came Q,4,4 . Other guy was first to act , he kept on betting so i smoothly called him each card and won about 100 on the one hand.

I would have taken his house and family, I'm so legit at hold 'em I break up families.

What did he have? Ideally pocket queens but likely just one queen I would presume? Or a pocket pair?

Lots of poker players on this board. I tried to pull together a board tournament a few years ago and hope we can do so some day. It's hard to figure out the logistics. I play all the time and have had a lot of recent tournament and cash games success.

i'm more of a cash game player, not big on tourney's, where you can play for hours and not win anything lol.

Yesterday at Mohegan, I saw an old guy check call with a straight flush because he didn't realize what he had. And my friend flopped a straight flush against the nut flush and got paid off.

Where the hell can you play online anymore? I got into the poker craze way back in 2005 but i stopped playing a few years later. If i goto a casino its the only game i'll play mainly because you can do it for hours and not lose a lot of money.

I've been playing on SealswithClubs.eu. They accept only bitcoins at the moment (which is a confusing online currency[until you get the handle of it, because I have made about 500 dollars in profit in bitcoin price increases alone] which fluctuates in price similar to stocks). The benefit though is that you can instantly withdraw your money which no other poker site offers at the moment.

EDIT: Speaking of which Bitcoins just hit another ALLTIME High. I'll be back in a second after I finish counting the hundred bucks I made just by snoozing.

do you mean mohegan sun in Ct.?

I will play in a board poker tournament any time. I play at the casinos all the time.

If you flop quads, you have to smooth call all the way just to give yourself a shot at the bat beat jackpot.

Usually about $20,000 split up around the table.

he had A, 10. He hit an ace on the river and thought he was good : )

Oh Lord I hate playing against people that don't know much specifically because they can draw good hands that they shouldn't even still be in. A 10 with a flop of Q 4 4... what in the hell was he doing staying in that hand until the river? If I'm bored and/or buzzed I may pay for the turn but even that's stupid.

Agree, one of the reasons I stopped playing. I only played low limit poker and everyone is a calling station.

Yeah you almost have to play for a bit higher stakes to avoid that but then you can also run into bored, bigger money calling stations that are just killing time.

BTW I'm stealing the term "calling station" from you. Perfect description.

you never heard that before? are you new to the poker world :) there are better players at higher stakes for the most part but there's always that one donkey.

Actually the other end of the spectrum. I haven't played for years (mid 2k's). I dont really have the time or disposable income now (wife and 2 kids) and I got burnt out on hold em. I would love to play cash games and play games where dealer calls the game but most folks don't really know how to play anything but hold em.

I would like to play again but I use all my good boy credits for trips north to the Carrier Dome.

Yeah i'm over NLHE. My main games are PLO8 and 2-7 Triple Draw. The only action I can find online though is PLO8 (until full tilt comes back). At my home games we play dealers choice, because we have a few calling stations that have ruined NLHE for the rest of us.
