JB went off on ACC scheduling

First off the ACC has 15 teams each team gets 2 bye during the conference season.

1 bye week during the week and 1 bye week during the weekend.

Syracuse is playing these 3 games Thursday-Saturday-Tuesday all at home with zero traveling.

These games aren't against the top teams in the conference and if we make the NCAA tournament this Thur-Sat will be a good practice run.

We have a lot more to complain about than this stuff. The Saturday-Tuesday turnaround is completely fair.

Scheduling is made to accommodate TV slots. Oh but we like the $21M payout from the ACC.
15 teams in the ACC. So there 7 games at any one time. 8 in a 3 day stretch to include the odd team. If the ACC is on ONLY 4 days in a week that still makes for at least 1 TV game easily per team. That's not considering up to 4 on Sat and 2 or 3 on Sunday! With ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, FOX and others, the AC couldn't find a TV slot for SU and some other ACC team between Feb 2 and the 11th? And they squeezed in 3 games in 6 days previous to that! Its not like that most (if not all) of the ACC games are played on campus and not fighting for time at a public arena. Games can be scheduled almost any time for any school. Schedule the games and TV will come.

It's at the end of January. The tournament isn't till March, so any benefits of playing games on a quick turnaround are negated.

How is the benefit negated? I said it would be a good practice run. So if we make the tournament JB will have a good baseline for the team to look back to.
We are playing Georgia Tech after Notre Dame both games are at the Dome so no travel was needed.
We have played Saturday-Monday games since forever in the Big East so Thursday-Saturday is no different and their is no travel.

Every ACC team gets 2 byes during the season the fact we have a bye after the Virginia Tech game is just random. These byes are good for all the teams to recharge their batteries during conference play.
