Jermaine lawrence

Lawrence measured officially in the LeBron Camp last month with shoes on at 6'9, 201, 6'10 wingspan.

I remember that but I also recall those numbers indicating that he was still growing.

Rak Christmas with a dribble drive?
Besides Rak having a longer wingspan at 7'3, both do have similar measurables when comparing them in high school. Rak is the better defender but it's no comparison when it comes to the offense.

If he's not that good of an inside defender (with a shorter wing span), what would you think of bringing Lawrence in as a big 3 to back up CJ in his last year? Does Lawrence have enough of a handle and range on his jumpshot to play SF in Syracuse's system?

Also, where does Tray Lyles fit in here -- he's listed on Verbalcommits.com as a new '14 SU offer at the PF position. http://verbalcommits.com/players/trey-lyles

He doesn't appear to have T-Rex arms and does put up good numbers in the rebounding/block shots department. So I would assume his reach is adequate for his height and his athleticism helps him out as well defensively. Andrew Wiggins wingspan is small than 7ft but he's a terrific rebounder and shot blocker due his reach and athleticism. Offensively I think he can play the 3, due to his ball handling ability and decent range with his jumper.

Don't know much currently about the Lyles situation. Hopefully soon though.

Tell him edowd said to commit already.

Well that settles it then ... lol. We put Lawrence at the 4, Wiggins at the 3 and McCullough/Johnson in the middle. Problem solved!!

Every SU fan will do the same if that dream comes true :)

We should just petition the NCAA to have 2 division 1 teams! We can keep one in the Big East and have a 2nd in the ACC. Think about it...it would solve anything and we would get twice as many games to watch!...Hop and JB would both be HCs and we can take all of these great recruits at once!

But then which would be New York's College Team?

Sounds like the Mets/Yankees, Giants/Jets of Upstate NY.

Let them play for it!...but is the only way we get Lawrence and Wiggins

You know what, we might not be able to take all the forwards we are looking at, but if we get any two of them we are going to be nasty. Nothing makes a Jim Boeheim team run better than 2 long forwards who have small forward offensive skill and power forward size and rebounding ability, and we are looking at more guys who fit that description now than I can ever remember.

I agree 1000%! and I would take any of them, but we can't take them all unfortunately.

One would be NY's college team, the other NJ's college team.

The walk-ons will be Wash D.C.'s college team.

Can anyone with a subscription to the other site, give a synopsis of what Lawrence has to say in his latest update?

Talked up SU, saying he would be a good fit for how they use their forwards. Won't schedule any visits until a few weeks. Seems to be ours to lose at this point.
Francis do you think anyone will commit at elite 24? I'm not talking about for the cuse I mean anybody to any school. I think we need to get some of the dominoes to fall. Maybe it will light a fire under peoples asses

Have no idea. The Cali schools are getting a lot visitors so maybe they'll get some commitments.

Jermaine Lawrence has cut his list to seven schools.
“My Final Top 7 in no specific order Cincinnati, Kansas, Kentucky, StJohns, Syracuse, UCLA, UNLV,” he Tweeted.
Rutgers, which has recruited the 6-foot-10 Lawrence long and hard, is apparently out.

Who's the main competition here? We had previously heard Cincy and SJU, is that still the case?

Rutgers whiffs on Lawrence, Kris Jenkins and likely Josh Hart. Such is the life of a Rutgers fan.

Kansas fans I know seem to prefer Karviar Shepard, but they're also in the mix (but probably a longshot) for Randle. Lawrence seems like a backup plan for them at this point.

Bill Self typically pursues bigs who can back guys down and clear space at the 4 and 5, as opposed to long-armed dudes like Lawrence who thrive more in the open floor.
