projection of the tournament field if the season ended today (4/27/14) based on the NCAA Selection Criteria and Selection Committee's past track record on applying it (you can look up old Bracketology threads if you don't know my methodology):

Patriot - Loyola

First Four At-Large Teams: Duke, Syracuse, Cornell, Maryland

All comes down to Saturday, if Syracuse wins there sitting great, an impressive win all but locks up a 2 or 3 seed at worst. A loss puts us at a four or 5 and draw us Albany, a game we really want to avoid if at all possible.

Assuming we win vs. Harvard/Mercer, we're staring at ND for the 3rd time this season. I guess what with all 6 ACC teams making the tournament, there is not much of a possibility of avoiding all of them.

This team with rest will beat ND, book it.

These are some awesome match ups. Can't wait.

#7 Notre Dame v Hofstra

The big variable is Harvard. Humb le has them winning the Ivy. If they don't, it's a different bracket. Although if Yale wins (and they are the defending champs) , they would just replace Harvard in the bracket.

How does UNC (RPI #10), who we (RPI #7) beat last night, get a home game while we're sent to play Loyola?
