Syracuse 20 - Marist 8: The (Re)Emergence of 22 (Nunes)

The Syracuse Orange put the Marist Red Foxes to bed on Sunday night after a 20-8 win. The Orange were led by Kevin Rice's nine points and Jordan Evans' five goals. Syracuse will move on to play the unseeded Johns Hopkins Blue Jays as these two write another chapter in the greatest college lacrosse rivalry of all time...

Reaction: No. 2 Syracuse 20, Marist 8 in NCAA First Round (IL)

Marist scored and celebrated the game’s first goal. Then Syracuse answered by rattling off 10 straight.

In doing so, the Orange ensured that the Red Foxes won’t write a Cinderella story this May. Unlike last year — when second-seeded Syracuse lost to Bryant in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament — second-seeded Syracuse (13-2, 2-2 Atlantic Coast) buried Marist (14-4, 6-0 MAAC) 20-8 in the Carrier Dome on Sunday night.

The convincing win sets the Orange with Johns Hopkins in Annapolis, Maryland, on Sunday after the Blue Jays upset seventh-seeded Virginia 19-7 earlier in the day...

Beat up Rice at your own risk! That hit woke up the beast!
Grimm was everywhere a great game from him!
Bobby made a key save when Marist was rallying a little at 11-5, he made a brilliant save laying out to the opposite pipe to save a point blank quick stick shot!
Break out game for 22 great to see and hope everyone can see his talent, great to see him get time at attack also!
Why Desko as the 4th attackman but not JT Forkin?

Seems like a great match up in the dragons den next week, all 4 games next week should be great!

Evans looked like a very different player without the brace.

I get that it was Marist but if he play to the level with Barber the 2nd line is now a weapon.
