Cascade/Maverik Media Poll: Top 5 Shake-Ups

Shake-ups in the Top 5 of the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll mean a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup is on tap for the weekend.

Syracuse is the undisputed No. 1, taking all of the first-place votes after a dominant win against Duke. Notre Dame moves up to No. 2 after shutting out Ohio State. The two will meet in South Bend this Saturday at noon on ESPNU.

Maryland is up to No. 3, topping now No. 4 North Carolina out in California. Denver takes the No. 5 spot.

USILA DI Coaches' Poll: Syracuse Unanimous

Syracuse retains the No. 1 spot in both major polls, earning every first-place vote in the USILA DI Coaches' Poll. The Orange took all the first-place votes in Monday morning's Cascade/Maverik Media Poll.

The coaches and media have the same top eight teams, and from there just subtle changes.

Nike/LM Rankings: No. 1 vs. No. 2 Showdown in South Bend

More movement in the weekly rankings has set up a No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown when the top-ranked Orange head to South Bend to play Notre Dame on Saturday.

Syracuse pounded Duke 19-7 on Sunday in the Carrier Dome while the Irish pitched a shutout against No. 15 Ohio State.

Elsewhere near the top, Maryland continued its hot streak out in California, handing previously second-ranked North Carolina its first loss.

The Nike/LM Top 20 will be updated each Monday throughout the season and is determined by the staff of Lacrosse Magazine.

So, we've beaten the #6, 7 and 8 ranked teams. All pretty convincingly. Can't wait to take down ND this weekend.
