PG Situation/Battle at Point in 17-18?

I can't tell if this is a "he gone" post or if you think he cant run point at Cuse. At this timestamp its about 25% max we make the tourney. Battle could blow up the last 12 ACC games but I think he's gone after next year.

Is howard a great ballhandler? He played 30 seconds... picked up his dribble just over half court then made a garbage pass with his man covered. Then JB "we can't just jerk these guys out they lose confidence" pulled him immediately and we never saw him again despite Gillon being awful. They both are not good.

Is it me or is Gillon trying to draw rain with his shots now? They weren't that loopy at the beginning of the year.

He was. He always seemed smaller to me though. I thought he was 6'2 or so.

I thought so too until he walked past me on the way to MSG for the Big East Tournament. I'm 6'3 and Triche is definitely a legit 6'4.

Battle to the point immediately! What have we got to lose? Howard and Gillon are liabilities and far less talented than the other starters. I'm not convinced that Battle will not be back. Same for Lydon. Our kids have been leaving ASP but that does not mean that everyone will. Battle is not high profile and we are not likely to get any post season exposure. A lot will depend on how these two perform in their team workouts. We need to prepare Battle for the point for next year and hope that he comes back to work on being a point. Maybe Moyer can play the two? Chewy should not be a starter. He would get eaten alive. Perhaps one of the newbies will be a pleasant surprise, ala Thompson? A lot of 'ifs' but all is not yet lost. However, it is not too early to imagine the abyss.

I'd say you're wrong... but based on the last couple games and how the NBA drafts today you can pretty much remove Robey's name from NBADraft.net and sub in Battle. I just thought with us being bad this year and no tourney we might keep him a year. He certainly not proven enough to be there yet but based on the last couple games if he continues his uptick I agree.

Okay, so Frank isn't a great shooter with the ball. But he's shot pretty well in a lot of games this year so the potential is there. I think.

What if we made battle the PG and moved Frank to the 2G? Worth a try at this point.

When did this happen? I must have missed those games... he is somehow 31% 3's this year after 10% last year on SSS.

Was doing it against the cupcakes but making them. I commented on it in November/ December. Now he's like 20% at best.

If you played any upper limits NL or Limit from 2006-2013 in AZ you've played with me. 2016 I just played the summer I don't play during the school year.

Moyer at the 2???? I'm worried about him at the 3. He can play some 3 (but moreso in 2 years when he cleans up his handle) but he's more of a 4.

I agree and have stated Battle would be our best point even TODAY. The problem seems to be we then don't have a 2/3. White is fine as a catch and shoot I guess the reason most think he can't play the 2 is defense. We are just so thin I guess but who is coming in that can play the 2 or 3 when we only landed second tier big guys? I hope we can pull off something for next year on the international or transfer market. Moyer is a small forward right? Who else is there?

White cannot play the top of the zone. Moyer is a 4 in our system not a 3. He need Duarte and Ayala to reclassify. I think Ayala could play the 2 with Duarte playing both the 2 and 3 as a backup. Hopefully there is a capable 2/3 on the 5th year market. Every time I write something like this I realize how screwed we are and it ruins my night.

I used to play a lot at Casino AZ but the games got too loose. Even the high limits. I'm not tight but I ain't into chasing dreams in the river either.
