PG Situation/Battle at Point in 17-18?

As long as he works out for a few teams he's gone. Seeing as he can put his name in the draft it's 100℅ he will. Once NBA scouts see his potential up close he's gone. I don't see him back no matter what happens the rest of the way. Players are drafted on potential and upsside which he has loads of. Someone will give him a roster spot and let him develop in the d-league rather than at Syracuse

Tons of talented guards in this year's draft. I'm not buying in on this. Battle will be back.

Good one. Please tell me this is a joke. Battle isn't leaving and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Autry won't start next year.

It's not about internet gambling. It's about live poker, much more live than our future backcourt and wing prospects. See what I did there?

Battle could play point guard for us but the way our roster is constructed, we are probably better off with him at the 2. If Lydon could play the 3, all bets are off. But he looked awkward and uncomfortable when we tried it early this season. And White can't play the 2. So... No. Next year? If he's here, maybe. But we still need a three. What a mess.

Not as concerned with Lydon on D at the 3. The issue is he just looks like he lacks the ability to separate from smaller, more athletic defenders when he's there on offense. At the 4/5 he creates matchup troubles for the opponents. Not so at the 3. I'm convinced he gained bad weight this off-season. JB and others saying he gained muscle is laughable. His arms look like jelly. JB said that we tried Lydon at the 3 and it just didn't work.

His two instant travels support this today... but he has OK moves and can hit the J over a smaller 3. I just kinda want anything that leads to removing our two awful guards and he isn't as bad as he looked trying to put the ball on the floor today. Its all rather imperfect.

In my opinion it's much worse. White can't play up top. I would rather see 36 minutes of Gillon and it kills me to say that.

Battle could be a Mike Gbinije-type point. Not really a pure point guard but able to use his several skills from there.

Would Battle-White-Roberson-Thompson-Lydon work as a line-up this year? That's our five best guys.

You may be right, I don't think he goes but you're looking at a guy with great measurables who has shown he can do great things on the court, especially one thing a lot of people said he couldn't which is shoot.

This is a guy who had trouble getting and staying on the court and now he's playing almost 40 a game.

There are a lot of games left, he's shown he is a prospect, he does well the rest of the way and he could throw his name out there at the least.

You have to remember, he is there every day and he needs to decide if he wants to come back to a possibley even worse team and with a guy who's been the complete opposite of team first.

Looking at numbers you can say he stays and I'll agree, looking at literally everything else I can't imagine why he would.

I use this excuse a lot... Roberson not starting in favor of TT is rediculous. TT will be good on D next year I hope. JB starting him in favor of Robey makes me think Robey slept with his daugher.

Battle needs to be the first option in transition. Off a turnover or defensive rebound get him the ball and look to break. SO frustrated with Gillon's decision-making in the open court. Once defense settles get it to the othr guard.
Not as comfortable with Battle as floor general in the half court though I saw a bit more of it last night. Wonder if that was by design?

Howard had 2-3 good shooting games very early against cupcakes. Maybe that's what VT is thinking about. But FH keeps proving he can't shoot whenever he tries.

Exactly. Maybe his shooting can improve if he's not concerned about running the offense.

December/January: "Who is going to draft Player X? That's stupid. He's not going to the draft!
April: "I still don't think he's going, look at all the other talent in there, hope you enjoy the D League ..."
June: "This sucks, why does it always happen to our team, no one could have predicted he would have gone..."

Don't get me wrong, I think it is a long shot right now, but A) the first priority for these kids is to play in the NBA and B) each NBA team has to draft someone with each pick.
