I think I would like to see Swider back as the alpha scorer. We didn't get one in the recruiting class like we hoped. It would probably be great for him to let the Boeheims move on, and he could be the featured scorer next year, along with Girard.

PG: Copeland
SG: Girard
SF: Benny
PF: Swider
C: Edwards

Bench:

G: Taylor, Torrence
F: Brown, Bunch
C: Anselem, Carey

With someone else on the bench, someone willing to play his bench as a weapon, that's not a bad team.

Depends on the coach. I see a lot of players that should be getting equal minutes or at least spread out more evenly. I don't know if JB will do that. I know in this lineup Swider, Edwards, and Swider would play every minute of every game.

That team wouldn’t win 15 games.

I’d rather he coached a good game and acted a complete clown in the presser.

And that wasn’t the point of my post.

Assuming no transfers, I’d go Symir, Joe, Taylor, Benny, Edwards.

Off the bench: Copeland, Frank, and whatever other freshman is most ready as 8th man.

You really don’t want to watch next year’s team. Trust me.

I think if Boeheim were to bow out, that could be a pretty good roster. Keep Swider and Girard as the scorers we didn't get in this recruiting class, only play Girard at the 2G for about 30 minutes a game, Swider, Benny and Maliq Brown as the primary forwards.

Copeland starts at PG, with Symir getting 10 minutes a game or so. Joe could even fill in if Copeland was having a tough game, or foul trouble. But not as a steady thing. The young shooter Taylor spells Joe.

We're set at center with Edwards, Anselem and Carey. Great mix.

We just need someone to coach them much differently. Like, another person.

If Frank has many more DNP he won’t be here.

So would Graeme Lloyd
Chris Everett Lloyd
Lloyd from entourage
Lloyds of London
Pink F. Loyd

Don't forget "The Shaker" Lloyd Moseby who actually played some AAA in Syracuse.

He literally said "it was not one guy, it was everyone." And said Jesse had a great game.

Actually, I take that as a deflection away from Jimmy, to be honest.

If this team finishes under .500 and JB comes back, I think we are going to portal hard. No way he will want to leave after a sub .500 years. The Boeheim colored glasses will be off and he’ll upgrade the roster.

That lineup isn’t scoring. Symir, Benny and Taylor wouldn’t give you more than 15 combined a game..

I want Benny, Jesse, Symir, Frank, Joe, the 5 freshmen, a stud portal guard(gimme a 6’3 John Gillon type) and a quality portal blood and guts 4 man who can rebound and defend. And a new coach.
Eh, I just don’t think Symir has it. And every time i see him play and do something stupid, I think of what we lost with Kadary, and I just get mad. I’d rather have a Gillon type at PG (a player who could actually shoot) instead of Symir. We’ll need a PG, a stud wing, and another forward from the portal. I actually think Buddy may be back for year 5, despite what he’s said.

No chance.Boeheim is changing or admits he was wrong on this roster.

He won’t portal hard. We have 5 recruits coming in and he doesn’t go deep.

The writing has been on the walls for years. We have been subpar on roster construction. Saying it will change is pure hope and nothing more.
We literally have 2 scholarship players who essentially walkons. We can’t even get projects on the bench who could have potential.

Expect another bubbleish season next year.

This is accurate. They’ll need at least 2 impact transfers to have any success next year.

Benny and Edwards are the absolute “must haves”. If they transfer out, we’re deep in it.
This is no inside info, but with this team and what Jesse is forced to do defensively, if I were him I would take my chances at the draft or overseas. I’m sure scouts are noticing his play this year.

Taylor is the top 50 recruit Buddy replacement, no? Should be way more ready from day 1, right? If so, I’m penciling him in for 10-12. We’ll see.

Benny was a 5 star recruit. No reason he can’t produce double digits as a soph. I’m expecting a Kris Joseph type freshman to sophomore leap.

Symir just needs to give us 8 and 7 and play defense and don’t do anything dumb. He can do that.

Jesse gets 20 and Joe plays the two and tries to get 20, but gets 16. Which is fine.

We won’t be close to a bubble team next year without a few impact transfers.

JB was very calm during his press conference. 25 points given up by live ball turnovers were the difference. He said everyone played a big part in the careless turnovers. Said Jessie played great but has to be more careful with the ball.
The turnovers were devastating. Complete meltdown. It’s astounding. We usually take care of the ball in the half court (the difficulties with the press are another story), but we were turning it over left and right and many weren’t against pressure D.

Taylor isn’t going to be ready as a freshman for more than a minor bench role. I wouldn’t count on him. The staff needs to mine the portal for talent—and hope Jessie doesn’t leave.

This is nonsensical. The problem isn’t Buddy being an offensive focus; it’s that JB didn’t recruit enough good pieces from the transfer portal to put around him, then picked the wrong guys from the portal, and allowed good, experienced players to walk out the door to transfer because he doesn’t know how to keep kids happy anymore. There’s no balance. Failing at roster construction and player retention. It’s time for him to retire.

100%. Buddy can be the offensive focus and a great one, can’t do it without a point guard and 4 other guys not moving without the ball. He gets the ball he literally has no option but to shoot or drive. Buddy is the last guy to blame on this team outside of Jesse.

Eh, I still think the problem is trying to make him the offensive focus. It's the origin story IMO.

The other problems all result from the perception that we need spacing for Buddy, we sacrifice a lot to give him that. He can't be the focus on offense. He can't pass, he can't drive well, he's barely competent against pressure D. He's a specialist that can play 40 minutes a game, or 20 minutes, but it should be based on match-ups - especially considering his defensive shortcomings.

He's a superb supplementary piece, not a focal point of a well balanced offense. And that likely contributes to losing players - they don't fit the "scheme" JB wants for Buddy to have the room to operate like he's a do-it-alll shooting guard - a scorer. He ain't that though.

I’ve seen Taylor play. Don’t expect much next year. Bunch is the only player we should expect to contribute next year in a meaningful way.
