Unusual practice at Melo Center today...

Stopped by the Melo Center today en route home from yesterday's Oprah Winfrey event (actually the opening of some new studios at the Newhouse School).

Was surprised to discover a full-blown practice going on.

Was even more surprised to realize it was the women's volley ball team practicing ... with a volley ball net strung across the center court line on one of the two practice courts.

Mentioned it to Jim Boeheim. His response: "We're happy to let them use it when we're not using it. We have such a nice facility here; it would be a shame not to share it."

(Basketball practice begins on Friday).

Hopefully they'll be in there practicing on the 11th when Mr Battle come to town : )
