Most cases if it's a qualifying test score, they go the prep route. If it's grades or credits they go the JUCO route. That's because you can only take/count 1 core course from a prep school.
 
I don't blame him for leaving if his credits don't transfer. It's a waste of time if they don't.

Who knows how any of these kids pay the prep school tuition. He's probably not.
