Why your team won't make it to the Final Four

Some of Medcalf's reasons for teams make sense, but Syracuse's? Medcalf seems to have written ours in about 30 seconds without even a little bit of research while also pushing a faulty narrative. Sure, Syracuse has had a few embarrassing first weekend losses, but any decent analysis of this year's roster points to a much-improved offense.

Didn't click the link, but in reading that, I have to assume the entire piece is supposed to be tongue in cheek and sarcastic. I wouldn't get too spun up about it.

Even as sarcasm, that is SOOOOOO last century. Sarcasm at its best should be currently relevant.

Right. The only one that applies this decade was Dayton in round 2 of 2014. Losing to Duke, UNC, Michigan, and Ohio State at least several rounds into the tourney is nothing to mock.

Well, actually Vermont in 2005 in first round technically was this century, which is what I was referring to. But that wouldn't be considered a trend of losing to mid-majors in first round.

As you point out, we lost to Dayton in the second round.

Medcalf is terrible. Doesn't surprise me he would write something like that. We have made the final 4 and sweet 16 as a double digit seed the last 5 years.

This is a shockingly bad summary from someone who wants to be taken seriously at a major sports outlet.
(And I'm not easily shocked).
No indication that the guy did a shred of research before putting his name to a silly, glib, erroneous and uninformed statement.
