Will be interesting to see how the next month goes leading up to our game for both teams. Either way it should be an exciting game when we meet.

Those are probably as reasonable as any opinions expressed in this thread. Is this a sign of the apocalypse?

it's been a few years since USC was dominant. there are a lot of good offenses out in the pac 10 but they haven't had a really good defense in a few years.

i don't think USC's better by a wide margin. they probably should be but I don't think they are.

True. USC's D isn't the dominant force it was years ago, but I still think we'll beat Rutgers by double digits. I agree that it's hard to tell using stats at this point in the season given who Rutgers has played (USF, Howard and Tulane), but USC has some real talent on the defensive side of the ball.

Agree with this completely. We are in the midst of a 7 game losing streak. Thump stony brook first. A lot can happen in 4 weeks. Plus, they're still Rutgers. Prob the best reason to leave the sunbeast is so that a lowly team (historically) like Rutgers is is no longer considered a top rival or team to beat. Although, in fairness to them that I hate to admit almost as much as I hate to admit that nd to the acc is needed there defense is pretty good.

I think lots of people are forgetting just how bad our offense was against the Big East teams on our schedule. I don't think we should just assume the offense is going to light them up. We did have two great games in a row but the Big East defenses aren't that bad.

everyone wants to have it both ways. USF sucks and Rutgers stopping them doesn't mean anything. Meanwhile USF put up 500 yards against us last year but that doesn't mean anything either. we get 300 ypg against rutgers in 2010 and 2011 but that doesn't mean anything about their defense either.

You absolutely right. The way people are talking in this thread you would think we are 2-0 and riding a 7 game winning streak and not the opposite. Lets win some games first.

Not sure what to make of either team from that game. USF made so many mistakes and the passing game was really off target. BJ Daniels really had a poor game. His deep throws were not even close.

It will be interesting to see how Rutgirls does against our hurry up.

Plus they'll have more film on what we're doing. Marrone says in this morning's article that it's the same (just faster). But I haven't seen a fullback yet, and not much (if any) double TE sets, so it's not the same.

On the flip side, I think Sales makes our offense better moreso than, say, losing a guy like Bailey makes us worse. I also think when Pugh is back, this OL will just be better than the last 2 years.

I didn't post anything about last year. I'm basing my opinion by what I've seen this year.

His days here are fast waning. He's one of those guys who pined for a "rivalry" with SU as if rivalries could be created out of thin air. He won't be here for basketball season that's for sure.

The "at least for a while" is a head nod to their fantasy that Rutgers will eventually be picked for the ACC or the Big 10 or now the SEC. No takers yet for all that potential market that has done nothing for the Big East.

Well, what do you expect from a program whose motto is, it's not what you can do for your conference, but what your conference can do for you.

I don't see Rutgers as a rival but just as the most annoying delusional fan base that we happen to play. The constant pay attention to me while I spew out the most outrageous crap is what has got them so much attention.

They are like them notorious facebook folk whom constantly post such remedial things...one after the other...Please, please, please pay attention to me! :rolling:
