I grew up with 10 game college seasons and 14 game NFL seasons. I loved the 10 game college season because the math was so easy. If a guy rushed for 1,000 yards that's 100 yards per game. I had an idea of what a 9-1 team was, what a 8-2 team was, what a 7-3 team was. I could never figure out what to make of a 9-2 team. Same thing with the NFL. I had a clear image of a 12-2, or an 11-3 or a 10-4 team. What's an 11-5 team? That's why it's fun to look at the college standings after 10 games and the NFL standings after 14.
