True, but even more so than the addition of the 12th game college football changed drastically after WW2 (better competition overall, with the start of the weeding out of lesser schools) and again in the late 70s or so with both the separation of division 1 (into 1A and 1AA) and with speed being much more part of the game as a result of Miami and FSU success. Just take a look at Pitt's two 10 win seasons prior to 1950, both 10 games only seasons. I think having those on the list are more misleading than the 10 win seasons belonging on the list due to 12 game seasons. It is what it is.

There's NO coincidence at all that WVU, BC, Pitt, and even Rutgers ALL just happened to have 10 win seasons, whilst we were in the midst of the GERG Error, or the recovery afterwards.
