13 Teams Left in Playoff Contention

I don’t get how but I freaking love this.

You see it’s like a playoff but it’s not a playoff.

It’s an “eliminator”...which is precisely what a playoff is. Only with this one you don’t actually play each other in elimination games until the actual playoff. So it’s kind of like the playoff for the playoff. Except for teams like Bama and Clemson, who won’t be eliminated if they lose, because they’re special.

At first they we’re going to call it the CFP Pre-Playoff, but CFP Eliminator had a much better ring to it.

Not sure how NC state has a path. what 2 win teams will behead of with no solid wins other than BC

I now think nobody even ESPN knows who would win a 4 way Atlantic tiebreaker between NC State, Clemson, BC and Syracuse at 6-2 so they are leaving all 4.
Now when Clemson beats BC this weekend that eliminator will take down all 3 other Atlantic teams.

Crazy to be mentioned in the same conversation as Alabama.

I think we have a shot to win out. It most definetly won’t be easy but all the games are winnable. Will be interesting to see how the rest of this unfolds.

4 way tie h2h NC state would be 1-2, clem 2-1, SU 2-1, BC 1-2. so then clemson wins..

B. Three (or More) Team Tie
(Three team (or more) tiebreaker procedure will be used to break all ties to identify the Championship game representative. Once a team is eliminated from the tie, the tie-breaker procedures restart for the remaining teams. If the three (or more) team tie can only be reduced to two teams, the two-team tiebreaker format will then be applied).
1. Combined head-to-head win-percentage among the tied teams.
2. Win-percentage of the tied teams within the division.
3. Head-to-head competition versus the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference win-percentage, and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken first to last, using the league’s tie-breaker policies.
4. Combined win-percentage versus all common non-divisional opponents.
5. Overall win-percentage versus non-divisional opponents.
6. Win-percentage versus common non-divisional opponents based upon their order of finish (overall conference win-percentage) and proceeding through other common non-divisional opponents based upon their divisional order of finish.
7. The tied team with the highest ranking by the Team Rating Score metric provided by SportSource Analytics following the conclusion of regular season games.
8. The representative shall be chosen by a draw as administered by the Commissioner or Commissioner’s designee.

I am still trying to figure out a way for Syracuse to win the Atlantic.

Syracuse has a REAL shot here. Michigan still plays Ohio state. So one of them is going to get at least lose one more.

West Virginia plays Oklahoma so one of them is guaranteed another loss.

Can’t put NC State in over us, we played same opponents but beat them.

If we win out, they won’t put Notre Dame in over us or Boston College.

Washington State plays a tough game against Washington.

Ohio State has a tough one this weekend against Michigan State.

Alabama, Clemson and Georgia are likely locks.

The path is there. Need a little luck and to WIN

Honestly we don’t want to make the CFB playoffs and then get boat raced. by Alabama by them naming the score.
I just want 10-2 and a NY6 bowl. Clemson and Michigan are the ones with a chance against Bama.

Only us and A&M have given Clemson a game this year though so maybe we could do the same w bama.

Of course I’m pretty sure bama could beat the raiders right now.

In this playoff structure (4 teams), this conversation is absolutely insane. Wash St, UCF and maybe even LSU will be there to scoop up the 4th spot if everyone else starts losing ridiculous games. We are effectively 2 1/2 spots behind Clemson for the division.

The fact that we are now 13th is great but we are shooting for a New Years Day bowl if we run the table and get some things to bounce our way. Playoffs are not even a perfect-storm, God-is-smiling on Syracuse scenario.

Wonder who that twitter feed is. It’s not anything official I don’t think.

Clemson didn’t have a backup like Jalen Hurts after Bryant left.
We also won the turnover margin by a +3 and they gave us a lot of points.
Our performance at Clemson is part of the reason we are as high as we are he Bama beats us by whatever score they want.
If there wasn’t a cheat code at number 1 I would want in.
I just want a NY6 bowl and positive momentum.

No. We do want to make the CFB playoff.

Alabama might boat race everyone they play but I'd rather find out than not.

Bama would roll us like 55-10
If they took Tua out in the 3rd Q that is the best case. If Bama wanted a Clemson-Louisville score they could do it to almost anyone. Saban calls the dogs off because he doesn’t want media attention for it.

They don't really call off the dogs. He ran up the score this year because people questioned their strength of schedule.

I was implying tua was out at end of third. Lol

you have to hope the safeties stay over the top and front 7 attack and see what happens.

on offense the quick screen stuff would struggle but tempo has always hurt Ala if you can get it going, who knows if we could. we did have 3 solid drives vs clemson and then tried to leg it to the finish line.
