at this point everyone left has had 1-2-3 moments of what if. clemson had a TD over ruled vs AM and we didnt stop a 4th down play. ND has dodge bullets, WV has, GA got thumped, LSU has, Ok has 2-3, Mich has a couple.

Ala is the only one without a defining moment

Yeah we will look very nice H2H vs other 2 loss teams.

Neither BC nor ND can slip up vs the Noles though. We need to be finishing with 2 quality road wins.

But the best 2 loss team other than us would be UGA coming off a CCG loss to Bama after we watched an all SEC final last year. Why play that game again 2 weeks later instead of letting us be lambs to the slaughter vs Bama.

I'm all for a little chaos...

We want OSU to lose this weekend against MSU - then turn around and beat Mich.
We want Wazzou to lose to either Wash or 'Zona (or both)
We want Texas to run the table in the Big 12
We want GaTech (barf) to upset GA
AFTER we beat ND - we want them to lose to USC
We want NW to run the table in the Big 10
We want CFU to lose to someone, anyone.

So fun.....Haven't done this kind of thing in, well, 30 years.

Problem is adding more game in a season to a sport known for its brutality and injuries. I think after the current contract ends it goes to 8, but after that I don't see it expanding more. With 8 the champs of the P5 can all automatically qualify and the top ranked G5 team can automatically qualify. Then you have three at large bids. That would make everyone more happy.

I know FCS has a larger playoff, but their athletes are also not as good. I don't think the physical toll on FCS players is as bad as FBS players.

Well, that may be true in regards to better athletes, but I'd debate that the physical toll is any worse, but it isn't really a tangible thing one could easily measure. I would argue, however, that the FCS emotional/psychological toll is superior than that of FBS players as they don't have anywhere near the resources, budgets, infrastructure, etc. at their hands as FBS. On that note, one may argue that because FBS has such superior resources, etc., the can treat the players physical injuries, soreness, what have you better, therefore, allowing FBS guys to get better treatments and recover more effectively.

I agree that 8 is the right number for a Division 1 playoff. I think we may have to cut back the regular season by a game to compensate for the extra playoff game. The season is a little too full already.

There's about an entire month between the 4 team playoff and the end of the regular season. That being said, if they had to cut out 1 game (like a Wagner, WTFC's type) to allow for a 16 team playoff, that would be great.

As fans of Syracuse football, I don't why all wouldn't be in favor of something like this. I think our chances of being included in an 8 team playoff is seldom happening, however, being in the top 16, I think we can do that, at least every once in a while if this season is any indicator of what our football future could be.

1953 orange bowl alabama 61 syracuse 6---somehow i believe we would fair somewhat better this time. i do not like to run away from a fight, although sometimes it is prudent to do so. we have played clemson tough and lsu tough. nd will be a measuring stick (although clemson was as well). i prefer to play the best available team and take what comes.

Does it have anything to do with their canceled game. Their resume will be based on 11 games.

Syracuse has a REAL shot here. Michigan still plays Ohio state. So one of them is going to get at least lose one more.

West Virginia plays Oklahoma so one of them is guaranteed another loss.

Can’t put NC State in over us, we played same opponents but beat them.

If we win out, they won’t put Notre Dame in over us or Boston College.

Washington State plays a tough game against Washington.

Ohio State has a tough one this weekend against Michigan State.

Alabama, Clemson and Georgia are likely locks.
