This reminds me a season that SU did not make the NCAA tournament even it finished one game above 0.500 or just 0.500 on Big East conference play. The critics said Syracuse only had one notable win over Missouri which was unranked. Just like this year we have one good OOC win over Ohio State. Does anybody remember which year it was?
The Louisville and NC State games are going to be big if we stub our toe somewhere else.
Give the staff credit they have the team playing well.
We are going to make the tournament.
If we hit shots we can beat anyone.
JB's 40+ years allows him to get the roles and chemistry right eventually, if anyone can. Not all puzzles are solvable.
It's like these cooking show contests in which competing chefs are given the same set of ingredients and are asked to come up with something that's edible or even delicious.
It takes a while to figure out "What can Marek do and not do and how can I use him?" "What role does Battle have to play this year?"
It takes a while for the players to figure out what works and what doesn't. And they have to learn to stop doing certain things. Looking over at the scorer's table and seeing your replacement sitting there is a clue that the off-balance, heavily contested three you just took with 20 seconds left on the clock just might not have been the best idea.
One problem is the Ohio State win is losing almost all its shine. They are 12-6, including 2-5 in the conference. One the flip slide, some ACC teams are looking better than we may have thought (NC State, Louisville). If we can win a handful against ranked ACC teams, especially on the road, that should do the trick.
Simple for the selection committee, not for the teamyes winning a handful against ranked teams on the road does the trick. Sounds simple enough. Lol
To be fair, after the GT loss, things did not look good at all. The team definitely "woke up" for Duke and has played very well since.Possibly a losing season!
Yeah but there’s not one cold blooded killer on this roster. Just a bunch of nice guys who are pretty good at hoops. To be fair, after the GT loss, things did not look good at all. The team definitely "woke up" for Duke and has played very well since.
I sure with I knew the backstory of that Saul to Paul wake up! I saw the same photo everyone else did of the team boarding the plane to go to Duke and thought, “Boy, those guys look dejected. This is going to be a massacre.” I love to be wrong! To be fair, after the GT loss, things did not look good at all. The team definitely "woke up" for Duke and has played very well since.
