1998 tourney

For those that remember, we lost to Duke in the Sweet 16 in 1998. We’ve never played Duke in the tourney since that game. I know I’ve been waiting for another shot at them in the tourney. Let’s get some revenge!

We were severly out talented but IIRC cut it to 2 on a Burgan alley-oop wuth about 8 to play. William Avery hit a long 3 on the next possession and we never got close again. Lost by 16 I think

Duke probably had the best team in college basketball for about 5 seasons between 1998-2002 but only managed to cash in one title out of it.

We tied it early in the second half with an Elvir Ovcina putback, gave up a Duke run, then had one of those typical "got a little momentum, almost made a comeback" runs that didn't quite close the gap, then totally ran out of steam. Hope this one goes a little better.
