D. Williams last time against Denver up in Pittsburgh 14 carries 26 yds. Good for 1.9/carry
It sure is funny to me the same people that want to call out all the deflate gate bell ringers because they say it's bs, come with bs of their own. It's comical or agenda driven just the same, for people that don't think Manning's foot issue was real. Yeah a HOF qb and ultimate competitor would just skip practicing at all, let alone with his teammates completely, and go along with some ploy to insert a backup qb to try out for a while is beyond reality. And then somebody trying to play internet doctor, of so and so played with the same injury, blah blah, look like fools. But a doctor on the plantar issue that I listened to, went into great detail on why a fully torn fascia is a lot better to play on then a partial tear, and then I found this;
Plantar fascia tears can vary in severity and in location.
Denver Broncosquarterback
Peyton Manning has been sidelined for more than a month with a partially torn plantar fascia. However, Manning's brother Eli didn't miss a game after he suffered a full tear of the plantar fascia in 2009. Typically, the pain becomes more manageable when the plantar fascia is fully torn.
Brees said he wasn't quite sure how to describe whether his injury was a full or partial tear.
"From everyone I've spoken to, mine seems to be a bit different than others that I've heard," Brees said. "This is all kind of a learning thing for me. I just know the way it feels right now and what I'm gonna have to do between now and game day to get myself ready to play."
And yeah an old vet qb like Kubiak and a head coach who's sole job is to win games, would bring Manning dignity. For somebody to even contemplate writing that is on a new drug. Denver having more upside with Brock than a healthy Manning, that's some real football knowledge right there. Obviously ball security is the #1, #2 most important thing period in the playoffs. Kubiak obviously must trust that Manning's not going to throw 3 picks. I guess that part remains to be seen, but the reason he has to trust that is what Manning will not do is because of the most important thing to do besides that. And that's making the correct read of the defense pre and post snap, and being able to audible and get his team into the right play. If Manning drank a 12 pack he'd do that better than Brock. It's exactly what he did when he went into the SD game and won it.
And as for somebody not watching the actual games and just spewing out whatever comes to mind, Manning ran Kubiak's offense against SD. He was in shotgun 12 times and UNDER CENTER 10 times. He "managed" the game, and Kubiak as well as Dennison have stated in the last week and today, that there's no restrictions on Kubiaks offense what so ever with Manning under center, and said it would throw off the entire balance of what the team has been working towards and has the feel for now to not run it 100%.
And yes, Kubiaks O has many plays for shotgun as well as pistol and under center. The reports by people that have blasted Manning before and who go to every practice, said today that Manning ran everything and looked great doing it all. Wow who would've known? Get time to heal at 39 and you look better! That's not to say I think he can't , but there's not a doubt in almost everybody's minds (pundits and ex players and current) you must go with Manning at this point, because he's the Broncos best option for the playoffs until he isn't.
And who can't Brown beat 1 on 1?? The part about that is that you don't play man when your starting 2 safeties are out. Wade tried it anyways and got burned. That's why you try things in the regular season and correct them come playoff time. After that game they mixed in zone and it put them on another level. At least one of our safeties will be back in Ward, it won't be close to the same back there. And Harris had his worst game since high school and will never play like that again until he's old. He can't wait for the matchup again.
