Of course most of the players studied played in the NFL, no one is looking into the kid who only played HS football that had depression issues. It can happen to anyone that played a contact sport or took too many shots to the head somehow.

Exactly - do you think Parker Canty's parents are donating his brain to the study for no reason? He barely played at SU over several years and yet they made the heart breaking decision to donate their son's brain to science.

Actually there have been multiple studies into early adolescent concussions, which is why you see many doctors recommending not playing until at least 15 and some that believe it should be flag football until 18. The dangers to a developing brain are far worse. Multiple studies have linked early concussions to higher rates of suicide as well.
