2018 DB’s

I think we see Fredericks & Scoop as the starting db's, with Cordy & Foster at safety. To be honest, I'm not crazy about Foster. I feel like he takes horrible angles and doesn't appear to be all that fast. Really like the other 3 guys I mentioned though. Sure, Cordy has his limitations due to his size, and he takes chances that sometimes burn us, but the kid is a play-maker. He always seems to be around the ball. It's nice to have someone in the defensive backfield that can create a turnover (pick/fumble) and take it the other way. I thought we were missing that this past season.

Excited to see Melinfonwu and Trill, after all the good things I read here. Thinking & hoping they will play a lot and contribute.

Carl Jones & Rodney Williams leave a lot to be desired. I'm just not sure they're P5 level players.

I was critical of him when I was at home game against Mtsu cause he was playing exceptionally lazy. I think I made a few posts about it but he got better with that after that game.

Davon Clarke I think is one of the more intriguing story lines this spring.

Here's to him being seen and not heard. I really pulled for this kid from the beginning and hope he stays focused on the books and football. Leave everything else alone (for now at least).

Some guys have early hiccups and then understand what maturity is and develop. Let's hope he's on a good path now.

I feel if a kid isn't starting, then shirt him. If he is so good that he beats out someone, ok u have to play him. We don't have that too often here.

That is exactly why I pulled for him and dreaded him being kicked off the team. I made a bunch of really dumb decisions when I was his age and glad I caught a couple breaks.

I have hated on R Williams many many times. He has value in spot situations for this team. 100%

He's probably played more than any DB the last 4 years. His experience will be good to have. I agree he has value. He's capable of making plays but lacks consistency. I still dont think he's a starter but I like his effort and commitment.

I hope Cordy can stay healthy and play FS. This will help him not bite so much on the play fakes and his speed will help cover speed. If he studied as much as rehabbed and saw where and when he to be SU might have the best secondary they've had in a while...definitely in the Babers era. These guys can't just follow the receivers, they have to cover them and hopefully the new taller LB's will help with this as well. Love to see one of the young ones be too good to not play.
