2019 NY Football Giants Season ..

Herr Kaiser - I have a trade for you.

Taco Charlton and a bag of deflated footballs for Eli Manning.

Dak loses his helmet at the end of the 3rd quarter of SB LIV, enter Manning.

Cooper makes a one-handed, behind the back TD catch of Manning's last NFL throw to beat the Patriots at the buzzer.

Manning wins, Dallas wins, and bpo still can try to argue Wentz is a better QB than Prescott.

Can you get Gettleman to pull the trigger?

Is Jason Garrett still your HC?
If so then your scenario is completely implausible.

It's just wild to me that a "Hall of Fame" quarterback would have missed the playoffs more years in his career than he actually made the playoffs (since 2005 when he was the starter the whole season). In that 14-year span, he's only made the playoffs 6 times, including once in the past seven years. Hasn't won a playoff game since 2011. Add in the mostly-mediocre regular season stats - including a near 1-to-1 touchdown to turnover ratio -and the only reason that he's even in the discussion for HOF is the two Super Bowls.

ding ding. You nailed it.

Brees 17 years starting 8 playoff seasons
Rivers 6 playoff seasons
Warner 12 & 5

Some of you people are just grasping at made up straws.

I don't think Rivers is a Hall of Famer, although if Manning is, then maybe he should be too. Warner had 5 of those 12 seasons where he started half of his teams games or less. Brees is a curious case, but his career stats absolutely blow Manning's out of the water, so there is no comparison there when talking HOF credentials.

Brees:
75,000 yards passing
522 touchdowns
235 interceptions
Led the league in passing 7 times
Led the league in touchdown passes 4 times
12-time Pro Bowler
5-time All-Pro
2-time NFL offensive player of the year

Manning:
56,500 yards passing
362 touchdowns
241 interceptions
Never led the league in passing
Never led the league in touchdown passes (led the league in INTs three times though)
4-time Pro Bowler
0-time All-Pro
0-time NFL offensive player of the year

If Brees played with the defenses Manning played with he might have more SB's than Brady.

I mean Drew Brees a borderline top 5 QB of alltime. At worst is a top 10 QB of alltime.
Eli Manning was never a top 5 QB in the league for ONE season. This guy has been the definition of mediocre.
Justin Tuck WON Super Bowl 42. He destroyed the Patriots OL. The team only scored 14 points in that game. Eli Manning WAS NOT more valuable than Justin Tuck was in that game. If anyone watches SB 42 and concludes Eli Manning was the most valuable player in that game they are stupid. I am saying flat stupid.

Just like for the record Tom Brady didn't deserve his first SB MVP against the Rams. It should have been Ty Law. The other 3 MVPs he was their best player.

Eli Manning is probably getting into the HOF. That in itself is the problem with the HOF. It is no longer the place for the best of the best. The guy was never one of the best.

If Eli played in a Dome or San Diego he might have better stats.

Drew Brees stats are phenomenal, Eli is basically 5th behind him.

HOF

And the point is the naysayers are often using made up stats that are easily dismissed or laughable.

Brees road stats while not as good as his home stats still blow Manning's out of the water.

please move all eli manning related crap to it's own thread. this is NFL thread, not giants thread, not Eli thread.

Done

thanks so much...those of us who like to discuss the league at large have to sift throw pages of Eli BS day after day.

The guy has been exactly .500 in the regular season. I mean that is amazing. The debate will be interesting to watch.

So was Warren Moon.

These aren’t baseball pitchers.

Warren Moon was an all pro, won an NFL MVP, was OPOY.
He had really Elite seasons.

If Eli Manning had regular seasons where he was even a top 5 QB he wouldn’t get this pushback. He has been a stat compiler whose best seasons were not close to the best of his contemporaries.

233 picks. 3 playoff wins. Juiced up Dome aided stats for his era because of the offense he played in, that none of the other good QBs played in.

This is basically every game from 2013 on...

So should we take the points or is this a blowout for the Bucs?

I actually think the Giants +6.5 is a good bet. Jameis will throw a couple of picks to your D which isn’t good.

The Giants would win this game with Alex Tanney at QB.

Tampa has a decent defense.
Jones athleticism is showing its value.
The kid can pass and run. Plus the OL can break down and he has made some plays outside of the pocket.
