Great Movie!
I take this to mean that when they're back from London, Frazier switches spots with Tauchman.
I can't totally agree with you there. Do you feel the same way when Gardner slides head first into first base? Why is it a guy capable of earning that much money doing the most difficult thing in sports, can't learn how to slide into a base without hurting himself? Am I the only one who sees this? View attachment 167337

Sliding headfirst into first base is one of the dumbest plays in baseball. You don't get there faster, and only expose yourself to all kinds of injury. I get infuriated every time Gardner does that.I can't totally agree with you there. Do you feel the same way when Gardner slides head first into first base?
In little league you can automatically be called out if you slide head first advancing. Was a big source of controversy in one of my son’s little league games this season.Sliding headfirst into first base is one of the dumbest plays in baseball. Seems like a smart rule. I understand why it's done into other bases, but believe even that should be limited to higher levels of baseball. In little league you can automatically be called out if you slide head first advancing. That's normally not why Gardner does it. He generally has made up his mind to do it and has committed to it before he has any idea where the throw may be. There's a reason you don't see many players do it; it's a dumbass play with no upside. One reason is to avoid a sweep tag.

I'd like to see his analysis. It would seem running through the bag is the fastest way there. I don't see how gathering yourself to throw your body forward and down from a full sprint (and then having to find the bag with your hand) gets you there sooner.Gardner would disagree and would tell you he can show you on a computer sliding gets him to first quicker. Of course at the end of the running he slows down, but the ability to reach out for the bag makes up for it in his opinion. And he’s done all kinds of video timing and modeling himself. He’s convinced of it.
John Kruk used to say that if sliding was faster you'd sure see some exciting finishes to the 100 yard dash.I'd like to see his analysis. Followed the Yankees forever. Fundamentals are not something they value it seems. Why is it a guy capable of earning that much money doing the most difficult thing in sports, can't learn how to slide into a base without hurting himself? Am I the only one who sees this? View attachment 167337
Maybe people got offended somehow ?
