2021 College Football Preseason QB Rankings: All 130 FBS starters

The OL has been bad since Dino came here. Marrone had his cons, but we could run the ball consistently when he was here and that wasn't so long ago.
OL is a lot about attitude and scheme, more so than talent.

that failure is on Dino and his staff.

dont get me wrong, talent rules...but theres a reason why Army & Navy can run on anyone.

Are you seriously saying Dungey wasn't a good QB?
im seriously saying he did not make the NFL.

so vis a vie, yes he wasnt a good QB.

he was a very good Syracuse QB.

So every QB who doesn't make the NFL (and he might make the Browns this year) is a bad college QB? I wouldn't be surprised if Dungy's injury history negatively affected his NFL stock. All I need to see is our Offense with and without Dungey to know he was an excellent college QB. Almost every team in our conference would have been thrilled to have him.

you are unnecessarily splitting hairs.

his record and stats speak for themselves.

Going into 18, Dungey was rated by Athlon at #23. Still haven't found 18s pff.

Forced to play as a true freshman. Beat Wake in his first ever start. Knocked out the season early. In 2016/2017, had us at 4-4 records until we lost him to season ending injuries. Team didnt win a game after that. His 4th year, he was All Acc QB. Finley and Lawrence should not have been ahead of him. Dungey beat FInley head to head. Lawrence had a ton of talent around him when he won the natty as a freshman. Dungey was our Tebow. Both were great college QB's imo. Tebow just had a better team around him so his legacy is bigger. College football has a ton of great QB's who didnt pan out in the NFL.

Many of the greatest college QBs of all time had an underwhelming or non-existent pro career, e.g. Tommie Frazier, Danny Wuerffel, Tim Tebow, Eric Crouch, Andre Ware, etc.
really???

had no clue.

Eric, you are better than this.

the others...well...

Tommy deserves a shot behind a capable offensive line. If he doesn't make the most of it, or oline is putrid again Dino better have a plan B in place. Simple as that.

Bring back the Power I formation or run wishbone option. If we can't pass pro again this season we still need to find a way. Oline is big enough and RB room is talented enough... There has to be a way to move the ball, it's not as though we're dealing with grob level talent gaps all over the roster.

Interesting topic we’ve not discussed.

We see Jacobian getting more shots in 2021? Not necessarily as a starter, but in general?

Let me get this straight, these rankings are the QBs ability alone not their supporting cast? That is alarming.

The signal-callers in this tier need elite supporting casts on both sides of the ball if their teams are to have big years.

But weren’t we Perry Grandmaed that it is everyone else’s fault?

everyone has 8 weeks to get there game ready, King.

nobody knows how to handcap a QB anymore.

im not sure, but i think i read that Dungey won the Heisman, or was at least grouped in talent wise with past winners.

gonna be a long summer...

They were all over the place on Dungey. I posted 1 top 5, another #23, and there is another that puts him in the 4th tier from the top. (Not so good)

Are you saying Tebow was not a great college QB? At least you acknowledge he won the Heisman.

Just because he didn’t make the NFL out the gate after he left (got signed by the bengals after mini camp, has a shot to win the backup job behind burrow) doesn’t mean he wasn’t a good quarterback. Johnny Manziel was absolutely horrible in the NFL, only started 8 games as a first round pick, only won 2 of those 8 starts. out of the league ever since. Does all that mean he wasn’t a good quarterback at A&M? Just because your game doesn’t translate to the NFL it doesn’t mean you aren’t good. I see the post above mine references Tim Tebow, that’s a good example aswell.

Major Harris scared me more than any QB SU has faced since.

I think if we see 'Ssippi in 2021 there's a really good chance something went wrong.

But I think heading into 2022 it's an alley brawl between Jorts, 'Ssippi and Lamson for QB1 and QB2.

Love that nickname.

I think Jacobian has some raw tools, and mental traits that could surprise some down the road.

Kid was a natural leader in HS and showed poise playing through the challenges of last year
