2021 College Football Preseason QB Rankings: All 130 FBS starters

Are you saying Tebow was not a great college QB? At least you acknowledge he won the Heisman.
Timothy Richard Tebow is my 2nd favorite non-Cuse football player of All Time.

a phenomenal college QB, shouldve won 2 Heisman's.

good lord is this thread taking a weird turn.

im still trying to find where i said Dungey wasnt a good college QB.

Um probably when you literally said he wasnt a good QB. Also when you referenced his lack of NFL career as a knock on him as a college QB. Post #17 and #27.

reading comprehension is not a strong point of yours and others on here is it.

he was a good Syracuse QB, very good even.

he was not...now stay with me here...a NFL QB, unlike the other 4 in that tweet.

he also, did not win a Heisman like the other post compared him with.

im pretty sure i know the difference between being a good or even great college QB and what that means for any potential NFL career.

now of the people who decided to become Mr & Mrs Dungey here, i dont know you or anyones rep other than Eric's...i pointed out the error of his ways. maybe he will respond, maybe he wont...i dont care, i know his work.

but judging by other responses here, you folks cant read worth a damn lick.

hell, in the Dome era, hes only high as 4th...maybe 5th on the list of Cuse QBs.

and before some smartass jokesters respond...NO, Philcox is not better than Dungey.

but you said
"im seriously saying he did not make the NFL.
so vis a vie, yes he wasnt a good QB."

That's what you said. Own it. No one knows or cares that he is "a good Syrcause QB" whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.

that is 100% correct.

i am talking in that exact spot...about all QBs in general.

and since he was never one of the top 64 or 96 QBs in the world, i was extrapolating that he wasnt a good QB.

are Rodgers and Mahomes on an equal platform with Darnold and Lock??

if QBs in the NFL can be bad, then QBs who do not make the NFL are what??

good lord i cant believe i am typing this again, but to be clear...in college, he was a good Syracuse QB.

he wasnt a Nationally good QB, because the highest award he won was 3rd team All ACC, but jeezus h christmas, that is not a knock on him.

let me ask you something, are we now supposed to call Girard a great QB because he was good in HS???

this whole thing started by an article tiering QBs up.

i get it, its july...but come the fluck on now.

Wouldn't it be the other way around? They certainly didn't fight at a level far exceeding their limited #'s to the dismay of the enemy, with some success. Although, if you are referring to the ineffectiveness of the Maginot line, and then removing the majority of the troops? Ok. Thermopylae, is about far exceeding the odds. There is a reason the Greek army still uses "Then We will fight in the shade", to this day. Apologies. I love that stuff. IF only we looked like Thermopylae. Lol

"The OL made the Maginot line look like Thermopylae last year"

(does not equal)

"The OL looked like Thermopylae last year."

This is literally all the board was clamoring for back then. Especially when Tommy came in to win the UNC game in OT. That started the majority of the chatter.
To be fair, at that point a big part of it was people thought Dungey’s arm was injured. He didn’t finish a couple games and was hopping around in pain holding his arm after throwing a few times.

However there were definitely some who also wanted him to start from the beginning that year.

This is a college message board, so fans are judging him as a college QB. (As an aside, he was probably a better College QB than a bunch of guys in the NFL) If Girard's HS had a message board, they'd probably say he was a very good QB.

Nassib better QB than Dungey because he made the league? Kurt Warner sucked at football until he made the rams, then he was suddenly "good"?

Nassib might be a better QB in general.

not just becuase he made the league, but that helps.

Kurt Warner was his college conf POY.

is in his Arena's team HOF.

is in the Arena HOF.

and then had success in the NFL.

id say he worked his ass off for his place in history...and it wasnt all of a sudden either..

Please explain this for me

"im sure i took a ton of pot sots at Dungey, he wasnt a good QB"

"im seriously saying he did not make the NFL.

so vis a vie, yes he wasnt a good QB"

Are you strickly talking about him as a NFL QB? Because its obvious he hasnt played a NFL snap yet. My evaluation of ED is based on what he did at SU. I thought he was a good dual threat QB. Maybe Im wrong or I'm just not smart enough to understand you.

Dungey was good Syracuse QB.

one of the best.

i am done.

This is exactly what happened to those ED/TD threads in 2018…

I called it out then as ludicrous. There were heated debates.

Not jumping into this new debate. Just want to state, again, that gd I loved me some Eric Dungey.

I’m changing my avatar back.

Just because he didn’t make the NFL out the gate after he left (got signed by the bengals after mini camp, has a shot to win the backup job behind burrow) doesn’t mean he wasn’t a good quarterback. Johnny Manziel was absolutely horrible in the NFL, only started 8 games as a first round pick, only won 2 of those 8 starts. out of the league ever since. Does all that mean he wasn’t a good quarterback at A&M? Just because your game doesn’t translate to the NFL it doesn’t mean you aren’t good. I see the post above mine references Tim Tebow, that’s a good example aswell.

The browns have been busy working on a list to back up your arguement

That’s a tough one. I may take senior Nassib over senior Dungey by just a hair.

lol, You just said ED wasnt a good QB. How do you expect people to respond? lol. Very vague. Just say he wasnt the most polished passer. We all would have agreed with you. lol. We all watch the NFL too. We know what it takes to play in that leauge.
Exactly. Todd Philcox.

Yeah it is tough. I love Nassib's senior year too. He lit it up. My only knock on Dungey is his injury history. Best ability and availability. I still have to go with ED because of the rush yards and TD's. Plus he was more fun to watch.

Lots of hindsight covering over the gripes people had with Eric. He was not perfect, he had flaws, pointing out those flaws doesn’t make his time here less covered in glory, it makes it accurate.

Nassib, same deal. And as poor as TD has been at times, the reverse happens to him. We paper over his positives in favor of narrative
