Yep. Plus no Montas in sight and who knows about Rodon. On a somewhat brighter note Schmidt and Devi have pitched better their last couple of outings.Cole is in midseason form giving up HRs. Yankees starting pitching has been awful this spring if anyone has noticed.
Peraza has shown to be a good hitter but is having a not so great spring. I really wish they didn't resign IKF given the other options available. Donaldson is another roadblock that could have been avoided. 4 guys for 3 positions would have been do-able.They need to decide on SS immediately. IKF needs to go, but even if he’s dealt, you can’t platoon DJ, Volpe, Peraza, & Torres.
Peraza’s bat is non-existent.
Who do you want playing the majority of middle infield games? It is amusing that Yankee fans so desperately want Kiner-Falefa to go away. Many will also criticize the lineup for striking out too much. Kiner-Falefa has one of the better strikeout-rates (top 20) in the league. Contact is overrated.
Remains to be seen how good he is defensively. Eye test says mediocre last year WITH the shift. Will be interesting to see how he performs this year actually playing the position. I think most fans are anxious to give the rookies a shot and he’s blocking one or both.It is amusing that Yankee fans so desperately want Kiner-Falefa to go away. I have no words.
