2022 National Signing Day Thread

Are there any coaches left to do the film study videos they've done the last couple of years?
We don't have any film yet. We won't know the skillsets of these new guys until they've played in a live game and we can see how they performed.

It doesn't matter. A dozen or more players between now and the spring is a huge mountain to climb.
They have between now and the opening of fall camp to fill gaps. With January signees and transfers there is going to be another round of kids looking to relocate at the end of spring ball on every team. Teams are going to have positional roster imbalances, kids who lose starting competitions.

Obvious example is what happened at Qb and Rb here. GCA left because the guys in front are second and third year players.

Just like every year there will be between 82 and 85 scholarship players on opening day.

it’s not a crisis, it’s an opportunity

Just needed some boldface.

That is going to be a big challenge as we will need a minimum of 12 more

Didn't I hear that schools are allowed to 'replace' up to 7 transfers in addition to the 25 player limit. Or was it that the 25 players are limited to having 7 transfers?

I might have to buy a 247 membership just so can read the FSU board. It looks epic
I didn't realize they gave Norvell a one year extension the other day. He is clearly over his head and will likely be fired next season. Why extend him from 2025 to 2026?

According to CL and the rulebook, we can only replace transfers that transfer out after today.

Right now we get 12 more I suppose

For every player who transfers AFTER Signing Day, you can get one additional scholarship, up to 7.

so its not really transferred out

Schools will only be allowed to replace players who enter the portal after either the end of the institution’s fall term or Dec. 15, 2021, whichever is earlier,

ones on the portal dont help at all for most schools since so many kids entered early..

does make you wonder about the timing of all these kids.. if schools fill up on HS kids these portal kids cant go to many places because the extra limits wont apply.. which could also mean some of these schools that take them cant take HS kids so might be more of those around as well.

if these kids waited until today they would have more options.

how many have transferred out though? portal doesnt mean transfer has happened.

I wish they just had the overall 85 player limit. that might be more relevant to the current situation. But then it might also encourage 'running off' less talented or injured players. But that can happen anyway.

It's a crisis if Babers does not take advantage of the opportunity. On paper with a strong new OC, can go shopping for parts that meet the system and have the most intense spring practice ever.

I'm just worried with such a bare cupboard with a head coach that had limited items in the pantry PLUS his unmistakable hatred of the portal game, we will be trending under 80 by spring and hustling for scraps to get to 85 come camp.

I love being wrong though.

the cupboard’s not bare. the Team was a semi functional pass game from winning at least 8 games.

for those who don't know, Deion has a deal with Barstool, and Hunter now does as well... wheeeeeee
