As far as quarterbacks go it’s Mahomes and Burrow then everybody else. Joey B is incredible.

I'm truly shocked you're not picking the Birds.

I'm sure you are. I'm also truly shocked Eagles fans are pretty confident they have it all but locked up.

I don't know who these Eagle fans are that you reference but I'm not one that thinks they have anything locked up. Have never said any such thing and the 4-5 other Eagle fans on this board have been very restrained as well. However, I couldn't understand why they were the 4th listed in terms of betting odds to win the SB (before this weekend) but obviously any one of these four teams left can win it all.

I just know you're very unlikely to ever give them their due. But hey you're a Dallas fan - I understand.

Only speaking for myself. I still need to see Hurts come thru in a big spot. He is a playoff unknown still. He will get his chance in the SB because there is no way they lose to SF.

Oh the fact I have more Eagles fans in my timeline and family than anything else it's all just some ribbing... no need to be so serious lol ;).

No worries. I have the same thing going on due to working with or living near NYG fans.

Yeah I've got that too being in NEPA but they have calmed down quite a bit. Generally speaking I find more fun in the Eagles - Cowboys back and forth than with the Gmen fans.

As for a serious note, I think that the SF game will be very interesting. Yesterday should have been Purdys first loss as a starter and a learning exercise. Instead, thanks to the generosity of Dak overall, Purdy, who played fine but also was pretty tentative until that TD drive, got to see what the next level takes while also having his team win.

The Dallas defense and speed was a major issue for SF most of the game. I don't think Phillys defense matches up as well and expect SF to have more success on that side of the ball. Now that works both ways as I expect Hurts and his mobility to hurt SF more. Dak had lanes to scramble several times and he did not. Hurts will, and he has the speedsters to go over the top of SF which is their one minor weakness on that D.

After SF, the thing about Cincy, is that since they got over their early season lull- Taylor seems to have a Belechick like approach in that they find different ways to win. Statistically there is nothing special about them but they have a big 4 on offense that rivals anyone in football, along with depth at RB. On defense they scheme up a plan every game to make it difficult. They simply have figured out a path to winning every game they play and also have the playmakers to execute and make enough special plays to get it done. For that reason, I like them to win it all- without any disrespect to KC , Philly or SF. Also- as for the AFC, as good as Mahomes is healthy, not having Hill to scare the secondary into leaving underneath stuff open brings them down a notch from their title team.

Burrow and Allen were the only QB’s who threw for over 225 yards this weekend and a lot of Allen’s were when they game was out of reach. So much for passing games dominating.

Not sure how Dak comes back from that game. That was all on him yesterday. Complete meltdown.

Lol back to a serious note- I agree - Dak is out there saying they will be back and it's all on him but I mean you only get so many mea culpas and as hollow as it was last year it is even more this year. He didn't just read things wrong, he threw balls in situations it wasn't necessary all the while missing open receivers all night in favor of tougher throws. He was effectively playing like a freshman/rookie QB the moment things got difficult. Not to mention bad throws even on easier routes.

I think there's more than a little 'Fool's Gold' in the so-called rise of the NFC East this year. We played the AFC South, which included two non-dominant teams in Jax and Tennessee, and two abysmal teams in Houston and Indy.

We played the NFC North, which included competitive and flawed teams in Minny and Detroit, one fading team in GB, and the abysmal Chicago Bears.

The Jints recognize that they've got work to do, the Birds could be looking at a reload after this year. But Jerrah says he likes his team, so don't expect many changes, and who knows what's going on in Snyderville?

Hubris, thy name is Jerry Jones. Sad.

BTW, as an Iggles' fan, I despise the Cowboys. Even though I think they would have been an easier match-up in the NFC Championship Game, I was rooting hard for the 49ers. Just wanted to see what one more year will do to Jerry's Botox injections.

Plus, I don't hate the Giants. Not since David Tyree's catch doomed the Patriots. That's just me , though...

Honestly, outside a little good natured ribbing fans of teams I don't care for - that hard-core fanatical side is gone for me. I think the combination of how much the game has changed across numerous sports including SU sports, a lot of the change being negative- its just meh.

I hang onto SU sports a little more still yet but even that has faded a great deal. I'm sure it's age related to some extent but I'm gonna argue it's much more than that too.

I said entering the playoffs, an NFL playoffs I have watched not more than a combined 5 minutes of, that the only Super Bowl matchup i likely would actually make a plan to watch would be Bengals v Niners. I doubt both will make it, but maybe one manages to

On the whole, I was a disappointing weekend. I liked the match-ups but not the games. They were all grinders, not shoot-outs. The teams with the most first downs won. Some great QBs involved but also some back-ups that did as well. Nothing remotely like Chiefs-Bills last year. Come to think about it, last year's Super Bowl was the same way. Bengals-Bills was under bad conditions, but the other games weren't.

Two trends that impact team sports: players get bigger and faster while the field stays the same size and thus effectively shrinks as the player's capabilities increase. Also, coaches become more conservative and predictable until somebody comes along who thinks outside the box. Most sports respond to this by changing the rules to open the game up to more offense. (Soccer does not, which is why many Americans have little patience for it.) Is it time for another round of rule changes in football to loosen things up? Or do we just need some new blood in the coaching ranks?

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the game. Guys still put up big numbers this year. Mahomes, Allen and Burrow all had 40 or more touchdowns.

This weekend specifically the Bengals and Eagles both went heavy run when they got up big to grind the clock and Mahomes getting injured suppressed his stats. The losing teams got mostly manhandled in the trenches. Not sure how you can change rules to account for that.

If you like shootouts it wasn’t the weekend for you.

I thought Chiefs Jags was a pretty solid game. Passing game is still good but this where coaches with good gameplans shine.

I thought the games were good - I hate the 7 on 7 regular season. Playoffs increase emphasis on line play and coordinator schemes. To win a ring you need to win up front. Cincy shocked me - not their DL as I think that is underrated but the backups on their OL looked better than the starters. The Bills helped as they aren't physical or weren't yesterday in any way, shape, or form. Small backers behind a bad DL.
