There’s an interview out from fall ball where Shelley Klaes had a lot of good things to say about Parower, and how excited she was to be able to work with her. And vise versa. Parower was excited about the team and the coaches—so this transfer comes as a shock to me. Perhaps she just wanted to be closer to home?

Whatever the reason was for the transfer is neither here nor there for me. This offense is going to have no shortage of offensive weapons in the future. Great quality pick up by Kayla and staff. Welcome to ‘Cuse Shira! :)

Kimber Hower (Goalie, North Carolina to Syracuse) & Delaney Sweitzer (Goalie, USC to Syracuse)

Hower and Sweitzer headed to Syracuse this fall after serving as backup goalies at their respective schools. Both highly touted out of high school, they will be competing for the starting position this spring along with fifth-year senior Hannah Van Middelem and sophomore Tate Paulson. Hower served as Carolina’s primary backup for her first two years before parting ways and heading up to Syracuse to play for Kayla Treanor and the Orange. While serving as a reserve, Hower maintained a .521% save percentage in her first two years. Entering college, Hower was ranked the No. 4 incoming goalie and No. 29 incoming freshman in the nation. Sweitzer will enter Syracuse having played three games for USC, starting averaging a save percentage of .429%. Sweitzer was an Under Armour All-American, where she made the game-winning assist in the 2019 Senior Game.
