People hate the advanced stats, but I'll present them anyway. Gio has been slightly better offensively (107 wRC+) than Donaldson (101 wRC+). 100 is league average. Donaldson has the defensive edge resulting in an overall 1.5 WAR to Gio's 0.9 WAR in roughly the same number of games.

I don’t hate them. I was just looking at offensive stats. And in normal times would have assumed Donaldson to be far superior.

I have no real idea, but I get the sense that the Yankee club house has a professional atmosphere, where one or two douchebags will not be able to destroy order.

Cashman got too cute. In the midst of a championship caliber season he decided to build for the future. Bader may come back this year, but plantar fasciitis is very painful. My father had it and it made walking difficult. It would come and go over time. Good thing he wasn't running down gappers and stealing bases.
