2022 Yankees Season

Bryan Hoch:
DJ LeMahieu was too “compromised” to make the ALDS roster, Aaron Boone said. LeMahieu will see specialists in hopes of being activated for the ALCS. DJ LeMahieu got two hits in live batting practice yesterday before Aaron Boone said he told him: “Man, I just don’t see it.” Boone said LeMahieu has essentially been playing “with one arm tied behind his back.” DJ didn’t like it but he understood.

Aaron Boone said that he was here late last night trying to decide between Oswald Peraza and Marwin Gonzalez. Ultimately he went with the veteran status and more defensive versatility.

Having Scott Effross headed for Tommy John surgery “is a huge loss. I feel heartbroken for him,” Aaron Boone said.

Aaron Boone on Matt Carpenter: “Right now, I see him as that big bat off the bench.” Carpenter told Boone he’s ready for whatever they need.

Clay Holmes is available to close tonight. “It’s gone really well here the last three or four days,” Aaron Boone said.

Aaron Boone said that Aroldis Chapman is continuing to throw down in Miami “but for now, he’s staying away.”

“Trying to get the strikeout”. I mean how about any out? Not like they couldn’t have had any ball in play be put out.
