Crazy good pitching early combined with hot hitting from Judge Carpenter and Stanton early. Most of the lineup has been bad to abysmal all year. Look at the averages of Hicks, Gallo, Donaldson, Rizzo, Higgy, Marwin etc.

I'm still a fan, but they're unwatchable now. Have been for about 6 weeks. They're all trying to hit HR's chasing the pitches they want rather than hitting the one thrown. It's not unlike after beating the Red Sox 19-8 in 2004, when they swung for the fences every at bat and took themselves out of the series. They look at hittable pitches in the zone, get behind in the count and make outs chasing pitches off the plate. The only players who hit the ball where it's pitched are Trevino and Benintendi, and sometimes Rizzo. And now Rizzo and Benintendi are on the limp. I'm not watching anymore until they change.
