It won’t start well eitherThis won’t end well.
Agreed. Not just coaching, but head coaching. I know the game. Played it. provided expert analysis from my living room couch for years. I even think I was a pretty good assistant coach. Always ready with a suggestion, saw the flow of the game, had a play idea, and probably most importantly I watched the players and could read when they needed a break. Then I became a head coach. Suddenly the game sped up 10 times. All those great ideas I had as an assistant didn't have time to develop in my head before I had to make a decision. It's hard to describe but its kind of like the difference between reading about how to do something and actually doing it. Being a head coach is a lot more than knowing the game.I have always wanted Doug to get a head coaching job, so he can see for himself how difficult a job it is. I do think he's pretty fair for the most part (an opinion I didn't have 10 years ago). He knows his stuff, but coaching is way more than X's and O's and he is going to find that out very soon.
Sounds like he can fund some NIL through other people's credit cards?

Kyle Guy Returns to Grounds as Athlete Development Mentor/Special Assistant
Former Virginia All-American Kyle Guy has been named Athlete Development Mentor/Special Assistant, Dean and Markel Families Men’s Head Basketball Coach Tony Bennett announced Wednesday (Aug. 7).virginiasports.com
I’m dumb, but isn’t McNeely headed to UConn? Guy would really have to really shout , not whisper, wouldn’t he?Kyle Guy is returning to UVa as an "Athlete Development Mentor/Special Assistant". Folks on our board think he's there to be the McKneely whisperer.

No, McKneely, the former Poca, WV, Dot, is still listed on our roster.I’m dumb, but isn’t McNeely headed to UConn? Guy would really have to really shout , not whisper, wouldn’t he?![]()
I think Cherie is referencing to HS AA Class of 2024 Liam McNeeley. No, McKneely, the former Poca, WV, Dot, is still listed on our roster.

One of my criticisms of McKneely is that he couldn't get himself open enough during crunch time. He, along with everyone else missed a lot of shots, including bunnies when we needed one at the end.I think Cherie is referencing to HS AA Class of 2024 Liam McNeeley.
Liam is definitely is going to UConn and does not need a whisperer.
No relation to Issac McKneeley of Hooville. Issac actually shot 44.5% from the 3 point circle last season, which is very good.
I think the issue with Issac revolves more around athletic ability, which even the great Kyle Guy might struggle to provide for him. No matter how louding he communicates with Issac.
But I could be wrong on this.

Sorry - duh, I totally forgot that a McKneely played for Virginia only thought of the incoming UConn player, McNeeley. One of my criticisms of McKneely is that he couldn't get himself open enough during crunch time.
