It's first about Allen seeing potential downturn at PSU and knowing that his D will lose a lot of talent that must be replaced in 2025. And Franklin already has a warm seat. PSU fans are getting more upset that Franklin seems incapable of beating any Top 10 team. So if 2025 is a 9-3 record with 0 Top 10 wins, Franklin will feel pressure to fire a coordinator or maybe even 2. Allen is looking to beat that rush. And he knows that Clemson has some talent on D and that Clemson can win the ACC in 2025.
