Keatts gone at NC State, even though they made Final Four last year. Makes me wonder if we didn’t make the ACC tourney, would Red really have been back (I know probably yes).

Pretty telling of the relative seriousness of our respective athletic departments. It's not like they are a program that has an overabundance of F4s.

Tough to compete with programs that are actually making an effort to... compete.

Keats would have been gone last year but their big man had an epiphany last Feb and went on a diet and got into shape. They probably realize that is not going to happen again.

I was just going to say the same thing. Nc State went to final 4 last year & Keatts has better winning percentage than Cuse last 8 years...Not serious...

Read somewhere that Lucas was the lead recruiter and is very close to the Boozer boys. Also, he is considering hiring as an assistant the boys current high school coach.

I was just going to say the same thing. Nc State went to final 4 last year & Keatts has better winning percentage than Cuse last 8 years...Not serious...

Just wait until we win a couple of games in the ACCT before getting boat-raced...

Frankly did not deserve it.

Keats is 151-113 (57%) over his 8 year tenure with the Pack.

Boeheim was 131-99 (57%) over his last eight years.

Both had 3 NCAA tourney appearances. Keats had a final four and Boeheim had two sweet sixteens.

If Boeheim needed to go, so did Keats.

Depending on the other openings I'm not sure he leaves this cycle. Ryan Odom likely to UVA, Will Wade is the obvious one for NC State.

Maybe Nova then. I could see him waiting one more season (but Cuse would have heavy competition next year).

Most likely, but not every year. Also, it's a nice alignment of who he is and where he is from. He has a lot of positives that make him not just another up and coming basketball coach. The last basketball coach we hired who grew up in western NY turned out to be pretty good for a while.

I don’t know about that, if you believe that he will be a top 15 coach in the game within the next few seasons that also has ties to upstate New York. However, the decision has been made and I just hope that those in power had the foresight to see what Hodgson has been doing and his trajectory and factored that into the decision making to give Autry another season. Hopefully Autry is successful for a long time here moving forward and we don’t look back a decade from now and realize that we missed out on our opportunity to course correct.
