2024-25 NBA Season / Playoffs

The only reason I haven't completely given up on Giannis staying in Milwaukee is because (1) he simply loves the city, and (2) he's absolutely the type to see all the talk about how he should leave and how Milwaukee is finished and respond by wanting to prove them wrong.

Still think at this point it's more likely he finally asks out but we'll see.

Assuming he does request a trade, I would honor his request given all he's given to the Bucks. In terms of actual proposals, it obviously depends on how many teams are competing for him and whatnot, how many picks are involved, etc., but some centerpieces that I think would be acceptable:
  • Houston: Sengun or Amen Thompson (preferably both as I'm not sure either are interesting enough for my liking, but guessing in this scenario one of them would be enough as a centerpiece)
  • OKC: Chet or Jalen Williams
  • Orlando: Paolo (probably not) or Franz
  • Whoever Gets Flagg: Flagg
Of course Giannis may request specific teams that aren't necessarily listed here and that could definitely impact things.
I hope he stays too. I mean the vultures were circling the second Dame went down but such is like in the modern day NBA

They've been circling for like a decade now lol. Even when we won the title it was "Now that he's won in Milwaukee, he can leave without feeling obligated to stay loyal".

Rockets could really use one more halfcourt creator but if it's the wrong guy they could easily lose the defensive identity in the process. Just way too reliant on Sengun. Nearly won still though.
Jabari Smith should be playing more than Amen Thompson with their lack of offense. Thompson has not been good.

Issue with Jabari is he needs guys to create shooting opportunities for him and it's basically only Amen and Jalen Green that can beat their man off the dribble and force rotations (or Sengun when Draymond is on the bench).

FVV got a decent look on that last shot. I know it’s harder to foul when guys are moving quickly up court but man, too good of an attempt for a guy that made 8(!!!).

If I'm Houston I am keeping Sengun and selling Green as the trade bait. Throw in Thompson, Smith, maybe reed Sheppard. Gianni's is great but I wouldn't give up Sengun.

Anyone who trades for Giannis is going to have to give up a huge chunk of their supporting cast. He’s great, but if I’m Houston or OKC I stay put after this year.

If I’m Houston I give up any combination of players it takes save for Amen. Everything else is replaceable

Butler out for game with pelvis contusion after a hard fall when being undercut. Pretty bozo play by Amen Thompson.

If he misses additional games that is enormous.
Didn't miss anything which was very good - he is one tough SOB and a great BB player.

What’s with doc rivers teams and EPIC COLLAPSES
I can’t blame Doc for Trent fumbling a pass and Lillard blowing an Achilles. That was just an epic disappointment. I feel so bad for Trent.

Think Trent started cramping up or something after the last 3 he made. Was noticeably hobbling around after that and then went and turned it over twice in a row when Indiana had to foul. Just brutal. That Bucks team is just so terribly constructed and once Dame got hurt there was just no chance. This team without Dame probably wouldn't have even been in the playoffs despite Giannis being a god walking among mere mortals.

why did they trade Holliday? I'll never understand it.

It’s never his fault

I would have given anything for Gianis to put Halliburtons dad in the hospital

A wee bit extreme over a basketball game.
It’s got nothing to do with basketball. I have zero care who won that game. this moron had no business being on the court . Walks up on a guy twice his size half his age and starts swearing at him and taunting him. why? Because he knows the guy he is assailing cannot do anything about it. So just his one time. ONE TIME.. it would feel so good to me (and countless others I’m sure) if he got a little surprise in the form of a friendly beat down. Everyone can learn a nice little lesson. Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes

Haliburton’s Dad is such an idiot, complete moron. Thought Giannis as well as Halliburton handled it well in pst game press conference. Don‘t think Giannis putting a beat down on the old man would have been a great look for anyone regardless of what a fool he was acting like

It is just a matter of time before a player seriously hurts someone. Fan in the front row, parent on the court...league should be reactive but it's going to take someone getting hurt by a player for action to be taken. Haliburton's Dad is proof the AAU parent has made it to the NBA, and is lucky that wasn't Charles Oakley he went up to. Amazing self-control by Giannis in my opinion. I also loved his subtle brag in the presser about knowing the feeling of winning as he's won a championship and they haven't.

Because he was absolutely anemic offensively and they likely feared Giannis would leave the team if we continued to depend on Holiday to be a scorer. And Giannis had always wanted to play with Dame; he was literally the #1 player in the league that he wanted to play with (besides his brother).

Haliburton's dad never would have done it to him because he's not a significant enough player/he'd probably be legitimately scared but imagine if that were someone like Isaiah Stewart in place of Giannis. Probably ends very differently.

One beat down could end all future idiotic ventures. A small investment in our future.

Maybe players should leave the Gming to the GMs?

They wouldn’t go anywhere with Holiday either. In Boston he’s the 5th option that is asked to play elite defense and only shoots catch and shoot jumpers. In Milwaukee he was asked to do more than he was capable.
