Being that our greatest need is a real point guard, perhaps we should start a thread listing only point guards in the portal (no shooting guards, combo guards) so that we can focus on, follow and assess their game, and how each player could fit in with our team.

I think Dasher or someone had basically said we're interested but he's not the starting guard target.

He averaged 37 min a game.

Council Jr. isn't going anywhere to come off the bench.

He would start at SU instantly, and be our best scoring guard. He's much more impactful than JJ -- a little redundant as neither shoot great, but Council is a shot maker.

Pure speculation and I would assume would not even be an option due to the optics and the risk if it fails. People here will not like this idea at all, but say we plan to have 5 guards. If we add Council to Starling, Anthony, and Fennell. What would we look for in the 5th guard? A guy who his strength is to knock down 3s. The guy who can fit that mold is none other than Trey Autry. Just want to put this out there. This team of guards could actually be very scary with the varying skill sets.

Apparently he's got a former teammate in HS he played with that's at UCLA and he lives near LA.

He might have asked, but he wouldn’t get it. UCLA does not have a huge NIL budget. Solid, but not huge.
